Apparently Juve want N’Dombele in exchange….

They've only just made his loan permanent (€18.5m, plus around €5m loan fee last year), so doesn't seem likely that we'd accept that for NDombele really. More likely to have some complex loans either way I'd have thought.

After his successful season for Juventus last year, I reckon McKennie's value has escalated sharply since his loan deal was negotiated - assuming the transfer fee was set at the stage when he joined on loan. It would be similar to the profit that Atalanta made on Cristian Romero.

What is he like, I know nothing about him?

Very tenacious CM. Great aerial ability, good defensive positioning and tackling and can break forward as well. At 22, he still has crazy potential, so this would be a great deal for us.

Can't see any point in keeping Ndombele around if he's going to be a sulky baby every 5 minutes. This deal would represent a huge financial hit for us, but if you weigh it up against what we're likely to get out of Ndombele and what we'd likely get out of McKennie, I'd get it done straight away and move on. There's probably quite a big commercial upside to this in the USA as well.

Hope this happens. They can give us Mckennie and some money and we'll be a better team for it. I've probably mentioned this 1000 times now but I got to watch Mckennie as a youngster when he played in the states for the FC Dallas academy. Had a great energy and tenacity even then, technique has certainly improved leaps and bounds and he's filled out a lot more. If we sign him and put him in 3 man CM with Skipp and PEH, we'll be looking at incredibly dynamic CM 3 who can all pass the ball, help defensively, break forward and put in a shift. This would be a coup for us.

Would be a very interesting addition to our midfield. He also got the physical attributes and mindset to shine in the PL.

Absolutely ok with this.
we have to be completely to finding the best return possible in NDombele right now. Regardless of what he cost, he is completely finished us now.
The idea of a really dynamic, combative midfield three would be very exciting. We would be much stronger without the ball and this would make us much more effective in getting the ball to a front three and allowing them to play more.
WM looks like he can get forward a bit more effectively also.
I’m not sure what he’s cost to buy outright to match what we spent on TN or pragmaticly half that price for his worth now in Aug ‘21 but this could work very well.

For those reading this and thinkIng we are taking a financial hit look at it this way- we are swapping a £55m rated midfielder Who can’t be bothered for £55m midfielder Who can

As I implied above, I doubt there is a huge difference in their market value now. McKennie's star has risen since his loan and Ndombele's has fallen since he joined us. So I doubt it would be a "huge financial hit" for Spurs. Closer to swapping like for like.

McKennie's style sounds more suited to the Premier League. Ndombele could work wonders with a bit more time and space.

I haven't followed him that closely, despite him being one of the better Americans in the game, but my impression has been that he is a box to box midfielder who relies more on effort and guile than pure skill. He will get stuck in, but also get in a good position to score a few goals. Like a better version of Sissoko, or the Nandez fellow we were interested in.

A structure like this may be the only way we get NDombele out. He’s too highly paid for his salary to make sense to anyone but the richest/ biggest clubs. Given that there are few of those out there who also have cash to spend on transfer fees, then a swap for a more promising player/ one better suited to the Prem, with a team like Juve, may make sense.

And let’s be realistic, would any club with cash to spend go for NDombele given what we would expect in transfer fees? There are better, less risky and more affordable options out there for clubs who have cash.

This could also make sense for Juve. A slower league, where there is less need for pressing is exactly what Tanguy needs. He’ll show his talent but his weaknesses won’t be exposed so frequently. McKenzie looks like he’s played well for them, but his strengths are better suited for the Prem (pressing, strength, engine) whereas he proabably does not offer as much incision or unpredictability as Tanguy. Italian teams generally sit back, especially against Juve, so it could suit Tanguy well.

Any opportunity where we’re not getting fleeced we should get him out. He’s a cancer in our club.

well if it gets rid of blubber belly it may well be worth it but swap deals very rarely come off, just depends on how good this McKennie bloke is

Personally Id like us to keep Ndombele. My perception is his a sensitive person that needs constant reassurance a footballer to the core and a quality you should look to build around and through.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. It's good to hear from somebody who has seen him and followed him as I and I would think many on hear know nothing about him.
