Sounds a bit exaggerated at first glance. Squawka trying too hard, hope I'm wrong.

Don't like this bit much :(
Think it's inevitable mate, it'll always be referred to as WHL in my house.
We cant really afford to be sentimental when we're trying to close the gap in income between us and the Mancs/City/Chelsea etc.

Yeah I know. Bit sad though if it's an actual strategy

Maybe they could just leave the station name as a nod to the past

Well I don't see Levy coughing £12m for the name so I think that's the most likely outcome anyway.

Why cost so much. The tfl maps are replaced pretty frequently and the signage in the station shouldn't cost too much.

Doesn't bother me too much as i get the bus. Suprised they aren't leaving it for the naming rights sponsors to change the name.

In fairness why would we need to rename a station with a perfectly good name? White Hart Lane has to stay since the stadium is inevitably going to be branded.

Will always be White Hart Lane, just as the stadium will always be known as WHL and each respective stand (Park Lane/The Shelf/Paxton). Everything is in the same spot and area.

We are not like that other lot in North London who moved to a whole new site.

The naming rights are just for TV and foreign markets. I do not see any Spurs fans using different names. Look at Newcastle, their fans always called their Stadium St James Park even when it was called Sports Direct.

They won't even replace the signs on the tubes. They'll just put a sticker over WHL saying Tottenham Hotspur

This is TFL trying to Levy Levy :ROFLMAO:

Give him a few weeks and he'll part ex his station car in and get a few hundred grand back from TFL and they'll thank him for being so generous.
