Take a look at our starting XI against BSC Young Boys at the Lane...

...there's six Englishmen and a Welshman in that eleven.

And we've also got English players like Jenas, Bentley, Woodgate, O'Hara, Alnwick, Naughton, Walker, Rose and Livermore in or around the first team squad.

It's rather ironic that Spurs, who were the club who opened-up the floodgates to Foreign players in League Football with the signings of Ardiles & Villa in 1978, are at the forefront of promoting British talent in the Top Flight.

Just makes it all the sweeter!

Obviously we all love a talented Johnny Foreigner to be the icing on the cake of a good team, but I'm glad there's a British vibe to our first XI overall.

The average age of the squad is low too which bodes well if it sticks together these next few seasons.

Are we building a dynasty? Like Manchester United in the late nineties, the great Milan side of the late eighties, early nineties.

Crouch looks like he's been waiting at a bus stop in the rain for too long.

Anyone notice how Defoe's suddenly looking quite old?

Usually I hate our kits until close to the end of the season, but this time I think it's a cracker.

This will be the key to our long term development I think. The likes of Gomes, Corluka, Dawson, Bale, Huddlestone, Lennon, Modric should all be there for the next 3 years at least and that continuity could really be important.
