I really doubt our ability to sell out 61K for 80% of our games. I'd much rather build a 50/55k seater that we sell out most weeks than sit a third/half empty stadium.

Couldn't agree more. I think people are still bewitched by this "20,000 ST waiting list" stat that gets bandied about. Just because people are on the waiting list, doesn't mean they will all be able to afford taking it up. And there will be plenty of current ST holders who may not get ST if they genuinely believe they will be able to get a ticket more easily with the increased capacity.

And that's not to mention the fact that we don't know what position the team will be in. There isn't a bottomless pit of good will and money among Spurs fans. Even during the Bale, Modric, VDV days we struggled to fill the ground for some cup and EL games.
