Tottenham are blanking enquiries for Kyle Walker-Peters because he looks set to start the season as their ONLY available right-back.

Crystal Palace and Brighton were among those wanting KWP, 22, on a season-long loan but he will be staying put

Is there anyone else out there whose wishing we’d loaned him out to another PL Club for a season to see how well he’d have done with a lot more games in the PL ? I’m not saying he will definitely flop or he will be unreliable, but having sold Trippier I’d like to have been in a position where we had a more informed idea as to how he will cope when we may have to select him more often this year....

Loan would great for him or sale to a good championship outfit.
We need better.
Foyth and Mad Serge will be OK but would prefer an upgrade.

I think KWP is a much better player than what people believe. We have a great talent loaning him out now would be silly imo now Trippier's gone.

Agree but the time to loan him out was last season when we had Trips. In hindsight I'm sure Poch would have. Too late now. Besides I think all 3 options of KWP Serge and JF will show their best. At the end of the season we'll have one clear winner for the spot.

My prediction is Foyth with KWP as backup.

Too bloody right. KWP will deliver. We've seen glimpses but if others can put their trust in young guns (Alexander Arnold comes to mind), why can't we.

So we’re going to play in four competitions with a junior right back. Ridiculous, but not really surprising. When most top clubs sell players, they have replacements lined up, but not us! Never.

He's 22 years old. Trippier was 24 when he arrived. Rose was about 22 or younger when he was converted to a left back.

The only reason he's considered as a "junior right back" is because that's how he has been handled thus far, in previous seasons.

Do people seriously think we would be rejecting bids for him from Europe and the Premiership if Pochettino still considered him to be a "junior right back"? We may yet buy another RB this summer - it would be wise - but it wouldn't surprise me a bit of KWP is the first choice player for this position on merit, based on the development that the management team can see and we can't, because we're not at the training ground every day.

He’s definitely a ‘junior right back’, as was Rose when he got into the first team. Trippier not so much. Took Rose a while to get to the high level he was at a couple of seasons ago with Walker. Just hope that KWP can cope with the pressure of being (as it stands) our only proper right back. Especially as he probably isn’t the finished article yet.

Its amazing to me how often we hear that Poch rates him so highly because actions speak louder than words and over the last 2 seasons he played very few games and had to watch a 19 year old cb get an opportunity at rb ahead of him. All well and good saying hes great in training but fact is on match day hes not trusted and its hardly like hes had Llahm and Cafu infront of him.
