OK this is a bit of a pleasure and PAIN thread.

I took my young son to his first game a few years ago and we won 3-0 against Crystal Palace in the cup.

I took him to another game soon after (cant remember who now) but we won 3-0

So we went to spurs v man city and at half time we were 3-0 up. OK i said the fatal words at half time 'well mate, i'm bringing you every week'

ok you know the rest we lost 3-4

I guess for him it was a good lesson for life and spurs.

YOU GUYS GOT ANY OTHER TALES of SPURS PAIN.

Yeah, being 3-0 up against Man U at White Hart Lane and going on to lose 3-5 (I think). I wasnt' at the match, but I had set up goal alerts on my phone.

I was at drama school at the time, and we would have a half-day on Saturdays. When we had finished for the day, I switched my phone back on and got the three Spurs goal alerts. Anyway, there was a pub around the corner and on Saturdays the whole class would go for a drink afterwards. I walked into the pub pleased as punch. Then the Man U goal alerts started coming in. Eventually, I staggered out of the pub like I'd been gut-punched. Painful.

Buying a ticket off a tout to stand in the Arse end when we lost 5 nil at home in december 1978 rather sticks in my mind.
People saying tonight - get a grip FFS we're at Wembley.

The man utd 3-5 game. I was living in Tampa, and my ex was a Man Utd supporter. A guy in work had the game on TV so he recorded it for us.

However it only had half the game on it. it came on at half time. So when I saw the score I was on could nine.

Then I watched the rest. With a Man Utd supporter.

Too young to go, but the 5-1 mid week away defeat to Sheff Utd sometime in the early 90s sticks in the memory for some reason. I think we wore the canary yellow & promptly fucked it all up.

Although most of the 90s & early 00s were like that.

In all honesty tonight doesn't come close to genuine 'Spurs Pain' for me. We had it in the bag, almost threw it away, and then redeemed it at the last minute. Classic cup story. We are in the final, where we will defend our title against Man United at Wembley. That isn't painful.

My Spurs pain includes the Man City game, which I saw with a couple of Gooner mates. There is also the Newcastle cup game which we lost, just before England lost to Wales in the 6 nations. That was when I lived in Wales and it was a long and depressing drive home. The Villa game in which Klinsmann got injured and Bosnich did his special wave to us really sticks in my mind as a painful one for some reason. We lost 1-0, and I had bad poo inside from food poisoning. We used to have a great left winger, a French lad, Dave something. It hurt when he was moved on.

That home game against Getafe, when it became clear we were sacking Martin Jol - that was Spurs pain.

Tonight pain? No.

Over the years, yes. Not today, couldnt go, didnt watch it on tv either. Checked our progress on here where the various posters were saying were worse than dogs***. Went to bed 3-0 down at the start of extra time. Come on here this morning and were back at Wembley. Ha Ha happy days. Come on you Spurs.
Just off to renew my s/t for the 2 years before they kick me again.
Spurs, more trouble than any woman ive known.
