Bar Bale, no star striker has scored yet, have they? Giroud perhaps, but strikers haven't really scored so far. Bit harsh to say Kane was poor when not given the service and told to take set pieces and so can't score. Muller never really had a proper sniff today, nor Lewandowski to my knowledge.

Agree, golden boot looks wide open, none of the big names have had an impact yet. Could be the year for Bale or maybe Ronaldo might actually turn up for a tournament.

Ibra did naff all bar set up the own goal. Didn't look like the hyped star his ego would have you believe.

It's no surprise, Wilmots is a shite manager

Have to agree with that. My son was saying to me Wilmots is sure to be sacked after the tourno. Belgium have arguably the best team on paper and yet they have been schooled by Italy. He said its plain and simple - bad management. When you have that many world class talented players at your disposal then you expect them to progress and do well. The fact they've been humbled so early on is a reflection of a manager unable to make the most of such a good team.

I think with that many top players you also need someone strong enough to form them into a team, Wilmots doesn't seem to be that at all on top of making barmy decisions like not playing Dembele. Italy in comparison haven't really got a true star in their prime but are an excellent team. I mean look at how well Giaccherini did today in the role he's been put into when he couldn't get a sniff at Sunderland!

Wilmots has and will piss away this golden generation of talent Belgium has

Hazard as captain? No Dembele? Fellaini in the 10 spot with Mertens, Carassco et al on the bench and De Bruyne and Hazard out wide? Vertonghen at LB?

If Belgium could convince Pellegrini to take over, I have no doubt they would at least challenge for a World Cup.

Toby, Jan and Moussa must be so pissed off when they're used to Poch. They know what he could do with this Belgian squad.

Jan was the one trying to energise the team while Hazard slowed the game down so much every time he got the ball that it was a lost cause in the end.

I don't blame Hazard only, and Wilmots must take responsibility for his perverse selections, but I honestly thought that Jan and Toby deserve to feel let down by the lack of support they got on the pitch, and Moussa is entitled to feel angry about not getting the opportunity to inject a bit of imagination and aggression into a very dull and disjointed team performance.

Don't understand Belgium. We've given them one of the best CB partnerships in Europe and one of the best midfielders in Europe, yet they've benched one and split up the other two to fit in Thomas bloody Vermaelen.

Belgium have had injury problems with Kompany and full backs, so why not go with a back three??

Also play Dembele instead of one of the two "holding" midfielders, they were both poor, play Hazard in the hole and De Bruyne and Mertens wide. Leaves room for Screech to play up the middle, using his height to both defend and attack.

Simples ??

Was Wimmer getting in to Austria's starting XI's for their friendlies? What's the chance he will play today?
