Hopefully Dembele's injury isnt too serious. Sometimes players come back too soon to play the next game and it only makes the injury worse, so I just hope he takes the time needed to recover. Jan played well though I thought.

Don't think it had anything to do with a pre-existing injury. This one looked like a contact injury to his foot when he kicked one of the Irish player's foot. What was his injury beforehand?

Somehow that assist has been referred to as Vardys. Weird how some people like to twist it.

To be honest the flack Kane has been getting indirectly is to do with how Hodgson set up the front 3. Put Sturridge with Kane and you would get a different dynamic in attack. He's unlucky that he had a really bad Sterling playing alongside him. I'm sure if Kane get on as a 2nd half sub next game he will do far better.

Personally I think his general play was still as good as ever and I also feel that had he been up top when Sturridge and Vardy were introduced and we suddenly had alternatives for the opposition to worry about in the final third and create some space then Kane would have been back doing what he does best (scoring)

Vardy and Sturridge didn't exactly play great - they just profited from the Welsh defence being stretched by England's change in formation. Had either been up top alone against Russia I doubt they could have performed any better than Kane did

He's class so he'd still be good but he looks knackered. His speed, reactions and strength look sapped.

When there's other great strikers on the bench then they should be on the pitch.

Roy should have given him a break.

Wimmer is fairly new to the national team, clearly haven't got their manager's trust yet.
Think it's a massive mistake to bench him for someone as limited as Prodl, though there is a difference in experience.

Wimmer is a LCB, their RCB was suspended, and the manager doesn't want to try a new defence with 2 LCB's (one out of position) in a massive competitive game, seems fair enough.
