So we don’t have a game between 26/12 and 02/01 then we have 2 in 48 hours, the first of those being away in Wales. Nice.

Surely it could’ve been played on Saturday 30th December at 3pm.

There's no 12.30 kickoff on the 30th, why on earth hasn't it been moved to then? Is it because Sky have selected this game and it's not techincally Sky's slot?

I despair at TV rights being split like they are in the UK. It just creates chaos.

Two reasons I'm guessing.

Sky have Rangers v Celtic at 12:30. Huge global audience that they wouldn't want diluted.

Police and other resources already committed for the 31st and couldn't be moved back to the 30th

Still don't like it...

The only thing that makes it OK is that both us and WHAM get 48 hours to prepare. They don't get an advantage.

Our FA Cup match the following weekend better be televised Sunday as compensation for this, no matter who we play.

It actually works out well for us football wise as long as realatively easy FA cup game. We would have had to play a game in 48 hours at some point. It gives us massive advantage in Swansea game as they have to play 48 hrs before , and West Ham always have loads of injuries and much worse squad in relegation battle they will prioritise the game before.

Swansea will be furious gives us a big advantage in that game. And West Ham have WBA 2 days before ,they will defo prioritise that. All round works out pretty well. I’d rather have the game Thursday as well on a personal level than interrupt new year plans.

WHU will always prioritise our game. Thier players and fans always step up for it

This should’ve been changed as soon as the fixture came out of the computer in the summer, not a month before the game.

I was really looking forward to seeing us play on NYE, and will miss seeing us over that period - I love seasonal football - but it should help to mitigate the schedule a bit at least.

Fifa won't be happy if they see this. They don't like politicians interfering with the administering of domestic leagues.

The MP for Tooting has far less need or right to get involved in this than the MP whose constituency includes the stadium, or MPs whose nearby constituencies will see large numbers of fans travelling through to Wembley. As an MP, she probably feels that she has to be 'seen to do things' in order to 'justify' her cushy little number.

A positive could be that Alderweireld and Wanyama might be closer to making an appearance as it's a few days later.

On another note the Trust are getting their knickers in a twist on Twitter. I'm not sure how much of their involvement is now helpful?

They lost all their meeting with Levy privileges after slagging the club off for ticketing in the summer. Seems they've lost much of their sway now. A shame as previously they were doing a good job on keeping us informed, via those meetings, of club issues.

Thanks a f**king lot Sky. You have just cost me one last London derby before moving to China. :banghead: Due to Xmas commitments, can't make Southampton, so my last game will be Wednesday night against Brighton.

So glad I don't give a single penny to those bastards to watch football.
