The Austrian U21 Midfielder/CF (Raphael Holzhauser) is a cracking player, got a sweet left foot and at times tearing England apart. The game in on ESPN is anyone wanted to know ;).

He is young ad talented but looked a bit useless for Stuttgart and he looks terrible. Our scouts only looking for the nice guys a la Kranjcar, Verty & gylfi ;)

Very harsh.

He's a decent talent but Stuttgart can't seem to find his best position. He has quite a few starts and does well but then gets dropped for a few games then gets played again. All goes round in circles and I'm not particularly sure the Stuttgart boss knows what he wants to do. Same with Rudiger who is another decent talent

It is a good point that the Stuttgart manager is awful. He definatley is. Would be interesting to see the Stuttgart squad with a really good manager. But atm I am enjoying it as I can't stand Stuttgart at all.

Hey, hey, hey.... none of that Stuttgart hate. Agreed that Labbadia is awful though... and they've just extended his contract! Idiots....

I have a few Stuttgart supporting family members and they're seriously considering the benefits of being relegated. They reckon it'll give the club the incentive to take a serious look at themselves, fire Labbadia and get their youth system fired up again. They did produce Sami Khedia, Mario Gomez, Kevin Kuranyi, Serdar Tasci, Timo Hildebrand as well as helping to launch Alexander Hleb & Phillip Lahm. Joachim Loew pretty much started out there too. I like the club but they seriously need to sort themselves out.

Holzhauser is a pretty raw but talented player - another one from the youth teams. I really have no idea where his best position is and I'm sure that's most of the problem with him, he's unusually tall and pretty stocky (190+cms and probably still growing) for a midfielder so I could see him moving into central defence or further forward in a few years time. Anyway, pretty key few years for him and Stuttgart is probably the place for him.

Like the look of this kid,Andreas Cornelius.....................he reminds me of Jurgen Klinsmann.

Carlton Cole on a free, arguably a better signing than Saha was:p

Didn't Saha actually score? His job basically was to sit on the bench in case of injuries so he did it well.

With Carlton Cole's ability, he wouldn't have even found the bench!

Unfortunately they are calling him the next Niklas Bentner, in which case we don't want to go anywhere near him, Bentner couldn't hit a barn door from 2 paces, and still can't.

Plenty of clubs are apparantly watching him every week, including ourselves, so he has clearly got something.

Johniesta AKA JONATHAN WILLIAMS AT PALACE HE'S GOING TO BE BIG
I watched Wales last night as I wanted to see Bale and Luka and also how this kid did.

Very impressive, surprisingly quick and quite intelligent with his runs. Looked decent on the ball and didn't shy away from it either.

I think he will definitely be in the premiership next season, whether that is with Palace or another club.

I think we should be interested, perhaps taking someone like Huddlestone's place in the squad.

I couldn't disagree more, he isnt as good as he thinks he is at the moment, he may become as good as he wants to be but I cant see that happening with us. I wouldn't be surprised if we do buy him back and try to loan him and then sell him on

I'm 100% with you about Taarabt to. He can be summed up in 5 words - me. me, me, me, me.

I'd take Hernandez any day but no choice of United selling us him.

Sounds like our own Tom Carroll to me...

Not how I remember it mate, I remember being baffled by how Harry was choosing Saha ahead of Defoe.

Need to see more of Cornelius but he looks an interesting player and could be a good option to have, a real presence up top.

Talk on Dortmund forums is that they are going to go after Abdellaoue and Diouf of H96, in hope to land one of them. Diouf would probably pull around 10m, Abdellaoue has to be less. Both of them would likely fit our system if they fit Dortmunds. Having watched them for a few years, I think BVB really represents a direction that AVB is trying to move in. For those of you who aren't familiar, their strong formation is a 4-2-3-1 with partially roaming midfield-front 3. If we stick with this formation, or move to a 4-3-3, I think we should be looking at their scouting. If they are looking at these two, our club should take a look as they are affordable.

I would love either of these guys here but pretty sure we have no chance, Draxler is seen as Germany's next big talent for a year or two now and now that we got Holtby, Schalke wont let him go imo.

As for Schurrle it seems Chelsea are long standing admirers of him as well as other clubs looking interested

Hearing Chelsea upped their bid for him today, I see him moving now.

Also, I'm still loving Djuricic, and he has been playing very well this year. He's played both wings and the CAM spot. The guy is fantastically creative, has great pace, great vision, and a nice shooting touch. I would love to have picked him up for wing cover (or possibly a starting spot if we go 4-3-3)

Goals a few weeks ago:

Newer compilation:

It seems though that we've lost out on him. He is going to Benfica for 6m, what a damn bargain.

I hope AVB has installed or at least will install as good a scouting network as the top teams in Portugal seem to have. Porto, Benfica and maybe to a lesser extent Sporting seem to continually be able to pickup talent at reasonable prices, bring them on a little and then sell on for huge profit margins!
Until we get the high revenue streams from a new stadium this is the kind of model we need to look at for a few years. Unfortunately aside from possibly Holtby I have seen no sign of this at all so far.

Or could it be AVB has identified these players but our dear leader is either to slow to complete these deals (Oscar) or refuses to pay the initial asking price...

We've just recently signed a guy called David McGrone (sp?) as Chief Scout for the U21s and Academy. His task is to find us the raw material we can mould into potential first team players.
