I sawa bit can someone please tbhat Sterling may be earmarked for fast tracking. Whilst I have seen his name mentioned on here quite a bit, can someone please let me know what sort of player he his, i.e. best position, skills and height and build etc.

Thanks

Sterling was a small striker but he looks to have grown a lot in the last year and filled out, his still not big but not tiny anymore I think he has some pace but not bucket loads I have seen him look quick and seen him look slow.

He plays football, but sometimes he doesn't play football. I've seen him shoot the ball, but I've also seen him pass it as well instead of shoot.

Shouldn't that be the FA's job to develop coaches.
Not sure exactly what the FA do by way of training new coaches. Perhaps they farm them out to various Academies to learn the practical side of the job and to gain experience working alongside experienced coaches?

Where is Marcus Edwards? Will he sign on or no? Thought I heard talk about him wanting to go. They asked David Pleat (who is a scout for us apparently?!) who he knew of coming through the youth system that could make an impact and he said Marcus Edwards... Isn't he 16? If someone like Pleat (tbf to him, he can spot talent) is recognising talent at 16 and already thinking he can make it, he must be good.

He's a midfielder, right?

The fact that no other teams have announced him signing for them is very positive imo.

So he not big but not tiny, he can be fast but then again he can be slow? Are you absolutely certain?

He is no taller than 5 foot 10 as for fast tracking I would say no he needs to work on his finishing and how to play as a lone striker because he looks more of a wide striker. As for his speed he would be just a bit faster than Defoe is now at the latter end of his career.

Interesting to see that the job titles of Gibbs, Allpress and Cochrane are Head of Coach & Player Development. That suggests to me that their jobs include developing the coaches of other clubs who maybe want to try to mimic our Academy and probably also helping new coaches attain their badges.

Are those reasonable assumptions to make?

No, think you are being a bit misled - McDermortt's full title is Head of Coaching and Player Development, but Gibbs, Allpress and Cochrane have titles on the Spurs site of 'Assistant Head of Coach & Player Development' which I think should be 'Assistant Head of Coaching & Player Development'.

So IMO nothing to do with developing other clubs coaches - although they may help develop our own coaches as well as our own youth players.

Not quite sure what 'he's expected to resume full training in the New Year' means as he tweeted a month or so ago that he was re-starting training. I guess he'll start from a relatively 'low' standard of fitness so its bound to be a little while to get him to a standard capable of doing the amount of pressing that Poch wants but a bit disappointed to read that he's still going to start full training in the New Year, hoped he would be available around Christmas time

Fingers crossed he will be a big hit with the fans.

Actually think it is more difficult coming in mid season - would be easier if he had come through the usual pre-season with everyone else and started playing at the start of this season and by now would have had playing and training time with everyone in the squad so knew everyone's game.

Now he'll need to learn how to play with pretty well everyone else - only advantage he'll have from about February onwards is that he'll be less tired.

I think there is definitely something in this. He may get more of a chance than expected due to the need to rotate as the season goes on and players tire. Hope so anyway as he was probably the 'prospect' I was most excited about pre season.

I am saying he looks like his grown a lot in the last year and filled out but his still not big but kids grow and develop, i agree with Edwin looks about 5.10. I employed a kid at 16-17 he was 5-11 by the time he left for uni he was 6ft 7. I have seen him look like his got pace playing for Spurs but playing for England under 17s he had no pace first half then came out the second half and looked quick giving the opposition problems.

Ehiogu raved about the displays from Kyle Walker-Peters, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Harry Winks, even adding that he hopes midfielder Winks plays against Monaco in the Europa League on Thursday.

"I thought we had the better players," said Ehiogu. "Kyle Walker-Peters was excellent, Cameron Carter-Vickers the best centre-half on show, Andros Townsend showed a great attitude again and Harry Winks was bright, industrious, he showed a lot of intent and hopefully he now has a part to play (for the first team against Monaco) on Thursday."
