Very happy with that hard earned point. Made even better by the fact we were missing our first choice central defence. Corluka was some signing.

Great team performance. :clap::clap::clap: COYS

Especially from players under fire.
Dawson, Gomes, Zok
BAE was outstanding.

Lennon was brilliant.

I think they'll be too knackered to go to Faces tonight...the mid week piss up must have helped in some way.

You'd have to be mental not to be happy with that!

And Gomes, eh? That save with his trailing hand from the free kick was something else. He couldn't have seen that until pretty late.

Nice to see Daws and Zoko play well as well.

Zokora and Gomes were immense!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else think we should have won? Im so so so certain that Huddlestone strike would have gone in had it not hit Pav. Pav is wank!!! VDS had already dived and theres no way he would have gotten to the shot. GODDAMMMIITTT!!

Good work by every one - let's hope for a nice unbeaten run from now on.

41 Years Ago Today

Spurs 4 Olympique Lyonnis 3
European Cup Winners’ Cup 2nd Round (2nd Leg)

Bringing a one goaldeficit from the ‘Battle of Lyon’ when Alan Mullery was sent off, Spurs were hoping to gain revenge by progressing to the next round. However, with various injuries in defence, defensive mistakes were to prove costly and this became a pointless victory as Spurs lost the tie on the away goals rule. Two Greaves goals (1 pen) had Spurs ahead at half-time. Lyon scored early in the second half and suddenly the away goal meant that Spurs had to win by two goals. A minute later Jones scored to restore Spurs overall lead but when Lyon scored five minutes later, they were ahead on aggregate. After 70 minutes Gilzean restored Spurs ascendancy but with ten minutes left, Lyon scored to win on the away goal rule. A night of much excitement but also great disappointment.

I remember it well, on the radio of course. No night games for me in those days. School came first according to my Old Mum.

Gomes, Daws and Zok for urine tests after the match.

They played out of their bloody skins todayEek

Zok kept "the best player in the world" in his pocket playing out of position, Dawson was man of the match and Gomes looked solid as a brick wall and actually inspired confidence. That to me is a lot more significant than a very good point.

corluka's quality rubs off on other players - i've never seen dawson hoof so few balls

great team performance, good defending and loads of hardwork - why didnt we play anywhere near that against Liverpool? (prem)

And Daws deserves that MOTM. Got to admit, like many others, seeing Daws in the starting line up I was worried but my word he nailed it. A day for the defense I think, Gomes, Corluka, BAE and Zok were all outstanding. Some good forward moves too, Lennon and Modric chipped in well. Very happy with that.

that was a good team performance. well done to the lads there. they showed grit an determination to work for that point. me thinks we will be in top half come next sunday.

I prefer Zokora away from the midfield and he looked far more composed on the right even when going forward. put in some good crosses.

Will Woody be available for Thursday, with Corluka cup tied, King out only Dawson may be available, could play Zokora there mind you.

Hmm I am happy with a point and the overall performance, but there was some poor stuff in there as well. We stood off far too much. Jenas was almost anonymous the whole game, and Bentley was poor apart from some early good crosses.

Great result for confidence though, Modric is going to be some player, and Gomes is starting to show his worth too. COYS

Shit game, good point.

Bentley, was, once again, woeful... and our CM was pretty much anonymous...

Absolutely sexual performance from our defence. Managing to keep the sheer class of Berbatov, Tevez, Carrick and Ronaldo under wraps, and without our two first-choice CB's, I see this as a huge step forward. Grand performances from Gomes and the back-4. This time last year I would have been shitting myself with 5 minutes left, but today I felt suprisingly calm. Played, lads.
