Gomes 6 - Is obviously not fit.

Corluka 7 - Looked good attacking with Lennon, usual solid defensive display. Amazing block
King 5 - Obviously not fit
Woodgate 7 - Solid
Bale 5 - Made a few decent runs, caught out of position way too often
O Hara 6 - Solid, not his best game
Zokora 6 - Cleans up well but needs to go into tackles harder, is losing out on too many
Modric 8 - MOTM, was behind every attack we made
Lennon 8 - Pushed Modric close for MOTM, was a constant threat
Pav 4 - Was doing ok until he got injured
Defoe 8 - Did fairly well, +1 for his goal

Bent 5 - Did ok but fucking hell... That miss.
Dawson 7 - Solid

As for the whole Bentley thing:
Bentley lifted the team when he came on I thought, we didn't look like equalising until then.

Gomes - 6 - should never have been put in position to start but did as well as he could. Battled to last the full game - should be applauded for that.
Corluka - 8 - MOM. Brilliant tackle to deny goalscoring opportunity in first half. Great presence in defence and attack.
King - 6 - was doing ok until his injury. Hopefully he will be back as soon as.
Woodgate - 7 - Mr Solid as usual.
Bale - 6 - decent - best game in a while. Needfs to compose himself more and not rush at hitting it.
Lennon - 8 - constant threat - always causing problems. Varying his play a lot more now.
Zokora - 7 - full of running, generally moved the ball round well. Needs to stick to players a bit more tightly.
Modric - 7 - much better second half when he got into the AM role.
O'Hara - 6 - often took too long to release ball but generally was a decent outlet on left hand side. In need of a real out and out left winger though.
Pavlyuchenko - 6 - was doing ok until he went off injured.
Defoe - 7 - well taken finish but missed so many chances. Need a lot more from him.
Subs:
Bent - 4 - shocking. His confidence looks shot to pieces. Not the Bent who is our top scorer.
Dawson - 7 - really discovering his good form now. Solid yet again.
Bentley - 6 - thought this was his best game in a long time. Great ball for Bent....shame it was wasted.

Gomez 6 Ok but should an unfit player be playing? His throws often too strong!

Bale 4 really poor like a headless chicken
King 5: nothing to say- not fit of course
Woodgate: 7 Played well .
Corluka: 7 Good at times- Class player-

Zokora: 8 Really good play.
Ohara: 4 Did nothing positive
Modric: 8 Excellent- deserves to be in a top team.
Lennon: 7 Good play but just a bit brainless- often chooses wrong option.

Defoe: 7 Tried hard – Super Goal
Pavluchenko 6: No time really

Bent: 1 So bad it is frightening and the missed header a damned disgrace
Dawson: 7 Good and playing really well now.
Bentley: 4 Did nothing and free kicks woeful.

Agreed with all, although I would give o'hara a 5 as he wasn't as bad as bale, plus bentley was brighter than of late so would upgrade to a 6

Tell me about it. I thought Pav was poised for a big game until the injury. He had one on the corner but Defoe blocked it. I can guarantee Pav would have finished Bent's sitter.

Zokora man of the match by a mile.
I think when Bilic said Modric was the best player of his type in the world after Kaka, he might have been on to something.
Bent is still shit.
Lennon NEEDS TO LEARN TO BEAT HIS FUCKING MAN. Everyone goes on about how he has no end product - he has no end product because he keeps trying to cross too early! He's not David Beckham. That's not how he made his mark when he first broke into the team. The one time he got to the byline, he put an almost perfect cross in for Defoe. Just knock it past the full-back and run. You're one of the fastest players in the league, for fuck's sake. And stop cutting inside, you dipshit.
Pavlyuchenko isn't up to the pace of the Premiership. Not even close. No wonder Harry wants to bring another striker in.

Gomes - 6.5 - To be honest, didn't really need to make any particularly wonderful saves. We need a back-up keeper, ASAP.

Corluka - 7 - Pretty decent game. I thought he was going to get absolutely raped against Traore and Belhadj, but he didn't do too badly at all.

King - 6 - It's always sad to see him go off injured. Because for a second it does cross your mind that this could be the last time we see him in a Spurs shirt. Luckily, it doesn't sound too bad.

Woodgate - 6.5 - He seems really slow recently. I mean really slow. Slow to react, slow with movement, just generally slow. I still think we need another decent CB to keep him on his toes.

Bale - 6.5 - He tries, bless him. Poor lad, it really seems that the injury last season has affected him. He was 10x better before, and I still think it's going to take a lot of time to get him back to how he was. I hate to say it, but I'm glad BAE's back soon.

Lennon - 8.5 - Works non-stop for the cause. He seemed to have everything today; pace, movement, skill, and most importantly, a final ball. Quality ball in for the Defoe header, just a shame it wasn't Pav there.

Zokora - 7.5 - He is improving a hell of a lot this season. I think it's incredibly harsh when people label him as the worst player they've ever seen. He's not great, but he is someone who can break in the middle and turn defence in to attack, it's just a shame his passing/shooting lets him down.

Modric - 7 - Great play for the assist, but apart from this I think he was weak today. Didn't really want to get involved at all, short passing was pretty good, but movement was poor.

O'Hara - 6.5 - Much like Modric, didn't like to get too involved. So much so, I can't really remember one significant impact he had on the game, barring a shot that went wide.

Pavlyuchenko - 5.5 - Unfortunate. Was just starting to get in to the game, and got hacked down by another Spurs reject. He could have made the difference in the second half.
____________________________

Bent - 5 - Who? Was he even on the pitch? Ohh yeah, he was. To sabotage our fucking plans. Awful, awful miss. Almost compares to the one at home against Arsenal last season. Only Keane could do a better job at missing a sitter like that.

Dawson - 7.5 - He's in the form of 05/06. It's just a shame no one else in the team is.

Bentley - 6.5 - I do feel sorry for him in a way. It was an inch-perfect ball for the Bent miss. But still, he continues to showboat, and do step-overs when he should be looking up and trying to pick a man.

Your opinion but like others you seem to be blnd to the fact that it was his interception and accurate pass to Modric that set up the goal.

Sorry, but Bale was absolutely hopeless, again. Moreover, he was massively at fault for the goal-if he'd thrown himself at it as any proper defender would have done then he would have blocked it. As it happens, he didnt want to get himself dirty so turned his back to the ball and subsequently it hit his boot and went in. If we are going to blame Jenas for last weeks goal then Bale has to be slated for this one, it was a disgraceful piece of denfending in a team supposedly fighting for their lives.

For gods sake get him loaned out to the Championship before the window closes.

Gomes 6 - Average game really...didn't have that much to do and wasn't at fault for the game. Some poor throw-outs but then you have to question why he was having to do it, shows the clear need for a quality back-up keeper.

Bale 4 - Defensively very poor, commits himself so many times and gets caught out and unlike BAE (who also likes to commit himself) hasn't got the pace to get back. Don't like saying it but looking forward to BAE's return.
King 7 - Thought he was class again before he got injured, some fantastic tackles and handled Crouch very well in the air.
Woodgate 7 - The bloke just oozes class.
Corluka 7.5 - He is getting better and better, and starting to look a bit more confident going forward.

Zokora 5.5 - Can't and will never fault the guys work-rate but I just don't think he is good enough. Commits himself in midfield but not with any conviction in the tackle and gets caught out easy. Positionally not good enough to play the DCM role alongside Luka. He is at his best when he is striding forward with the ball but then it always ends in tears with him either shooting hopelessly or failing to complete a five-yard pass (except today into Luka for the goal - before you get on my back).
Ohara 6 - Maybe should have filled in at LB earlier as he seems more comfortable there. Doesn't offer that attacking flair for the left wing but will fight and run for you all day long.
Modric 8 - Thought he really started to tick at times in the midfield, spraying the ball about nicely. Also not afraid to get stuck in and often flew into tackles with more fight than Zokora. Find him a quality DCM and give him a bit more freedom.
Lennon 8 - Class today, and people slating him need to open their eyes and realise he is our best (and often only outlet). Fast, direct and the final ball is getting better every week. Our Man of the match for me.

Defoe 7 - Worked hard and tracked back but didn't take his chances. Will get there in the end and scored the vital goal.
Pavluchenko 6 - Didn't have enough of the ball and I feel he might have got dominated in the air a bit today, but hope the injury isn't too bad as he is class.

Bent 4 - Very poor miss obviously, but at least he got in the positions. Still not good enough though and think it further highlights the need for a top-class target man.
Dawson 8 - Got to be honest, this bloke amazes me. In and out of the team but this season hasn't failed to perform when needed. Brave, strong, good in the air. Not the best on the floor but we need more passionate lads like him.
Bentley 7 - Good cross for Bent and looked a bit more positive going forward, hope it's a sign of things to come.

Overall MotM unfortunately has to be David James who showed again what a class keeper he is.

How can you give Bale the smae mark as Woodgate? Other than Bale who I would give about 5.5 I agree with your assement of the game. Sorry Bale was poor. Nugent's goal was due to Bale not closing him down quick enough.

None of em them turned up until Defoe scored and then they started to play a little better.

None of them worth more than a 7. Bent regardless of his miss is fucking a waste of space, he offers absolutely NOTHING.

Bale dreadful and BAE will hopefully slot straight back in.

On reflection we should really have picked up the win.

To be honest, I think that James was MOM. If it was'nt for him the lads would all be forgiven for their mistakes,Bent included. Thought it was one of our best performances really. I saw a team full of players who are now aware that they have to die for the cause. Of course the result is disappointing but I'm not completly upset. If the players contine showing today's determination, hopefully we'll be ok.

Gomes - 6.5 A noble effort from a GK unable to kick the ball, made a decent save from Nugent.

Corluka - 8.5 Solid, decent going forward and linked well with Lennon. A great last ditch challenge which earns him my vote for Man of the Match.

King - 5.5 Unlucky with injury, but it could have cost us a goal.

Woodgate - 7.5 decent against Crouch, made some decent interceptions

Bale - 6.5 Worked hard, attempted to compete physically a little more, probably his best game of the season.

Lennon - 7.5 Continuing to confirm his status as Player of the Season.

Zokora - 7 - effort, tried to cover the midfield but lacked defensive support

Modric - 7 worked hard alongside Zokora considering the midfield was a complete mess shape wise in this frantic open game.

O'Hara - 6.5 steady, gave the ball away a few times but showed good versatility to slot in at LB.

Pavlyuchenko - 5.5 like King it was hard to judge because of the injury. I fancy he would have scored the chances that fell to Defoe (from Davis' mistake and the header from Lennon's cross).

Defoe - 7 got the goal, did some good tracking back and generally worked hard. Should have scored at least one more goal.

Subs:
Bent - 4 Miss of the Season, far worse than Zaki's chance from yesterday

Dawson - 7 Did a fine job again alongside Woodgate.

Bentley - 6.5 Worked a lot harder and seemed keen to prove a point. Will probably start against Burnley.

Gomes - 7 - Comfortable. Did not have a lot to do.
Bale - 7 - I thought he did well with O'Hara protecting him. I think it was his best performance for a long time.
Corluka - 7 - Cool, calm and assured. Excellent last ditch tackle to prevent a certain goal.
King - 7 - Solid display up until the injury.
Woodgate - 7 - Should be in the England squad. Class and a bargain at £8m.
O'Hara - 7 - Worked hard, put some good corners in, protected his full back well and deserved his place in the team
Lennon - 7.5 - MOTM - Notice that the normal attacking full back of Portsmouth did not really feature today - thats because Lennon was pushing him right back. Good directness, links up well with players now, and put in a couple of decent crosses.
Zoko - 7 - Covered every blade of grass. Not technically gifted, but always closing down players and covering the full backs.
Modric - 7.3 - Classy player. Can you get the ball off him? Hardly ever misplaces a pass and set up the goal. Can tackle as well. He can play in a 4-4-2.
Defoe - 7.2 - Scored a goal, could have had more, but he gets his mark for improving his link up play, his positivity and the killer instinct that he possesses. I feel so much more confident about our chances this season with Defoe up front.
Pav - 6.5 - Unlucky with the awful tackle from Davis, but was not involved that much in the game anyway.

Subs

Dawson - 7 - Solid display. Love his 110% committment. Getting his form back, and I take back my slating of him.
Bent - 5 - Poor display - Harder to miss the header than get it on target, but he achieved it.....
Bentley - 6.5 - Worked hard, set up the chance for Bent, again a little hit and miss on his final ball.

Overall, a bit gutted that we could not get 3 points, but happy that we scored, that we looked good defensively, and that we were creating chances....

I must have been watching a different game from the rest of you.
I thought Defoe was shocking until the goal. How he didn't square the ball for a chance which even Bent would have scored from I don't know, he couldn't even get his shot on target.
If he is that selfish he is going to have difficulty forging a strike partnership with anyone.
