...how can you reason with folk who post this knind of *bites tongue* nonsense. Zokora has been consistently good/very good for us for much of this season. Today, again, he was superb. The consensus on this site seems to be shifting towards a general appreciation for him in the starting XI and rightly so, he offers so much to the side, and even though's who say 'yeah he's a great athlete BUT...' should appreciate how much good his athleticism does. He's always the first one chasing back and has made crucial interceptions within our final third on numerous occasions for us this season. His contribution from a technical perspective has also increased substantially this season. He's clearly no hoddle/ginola with the ball at his feet but his passing is fine, and at times, bloody good (see the pass-completion rates mentioned previously).

We've got bigger problems to worry about than a consistently high-performing central midfielder who clearly gives his all for the Spurs week in, week out. The stubbornness and, at times, ignorance of some spurs fans makes me laugh/cry at times. Keep up the good work.

Difficult ratings to give because as a team i thought we were poor for the first 60 minutes and only really came to full life when we went behind (never seen that before have we), some players really raised their game in the last half hour such as Modric, Defoe & Lennon etc, but in our position we need a full 90 minutes lads.

Gomes 6 - Did reasonably well and not at fault for the goal, but the lad is not fit, c'mon Harry either play Cesar or Alnwick or buy someone now.

Corluka 7 - Thought he had quite a good game, worked extremely hard in defence and supported the attack with true conviction.

Woodgate 7 - Led the team well and was committed and convincing throughout, class act. spurs MOTM

King 5 - For all his qualities, the guy is not fit enough for the EPL at the moment, and broke down.

Bale 5 - Going forward was a 6, however defensively was a 4 at best. Not at fault for the goal, as this was bad luck, but was really a weak link at left back and lost his man too many times, thank god BAE is back after this match.

Lennon 7 - Thought Lennon had a good game, was a constant threat to pompey, always an outlet, showed excellent control and actually put some reasonable balls in.

Zokora 6 - The problem with zokora is the same as normal, work rate is excellent he is such a trier, he has such pace and is able to run effectively with the ball, yes he can pass sideways in our half to modric etc, but when he gets forward he goes to jelly, cant make key passes or shoot.

Modric 7 - whilst he tried throughout, was inefficient in the first half, and didn't dictate as we need him to, after the break he improved, but after pompey scored he took the game to pompey and was probably the star.

Ohara 6 - Worked very hard, but did not create or add much. Personally thought he added to the team much more when he replace bale at leftback, and would choose him their over bale everytimeat the moment.

Pavlyuchenko 6 - was working hard looking for the ball, without actually getting any luck.

Defoe 7 - Worked as hard as anyone, and was always lively. Did waste a great chance but head never went down, and got what his performance deserved with an excellent goal. Offers so much more than bent in the box and outside.

Bent 2 - In one word "useless". From coming on until pompy scored he was totally anonymous. Did put himself about more in the last 30 minutes (thats why i gave him 2, for no other reason), but wasted the easiest chance of the match which would have given us 3 points. Unfortunately i think the guy really want to make it with us, but he has a poor first touch, has poor movement, and cannot make the chances count, not good enough to wear a spurs shirt.

Dawson 7 - Thought he gave a very good account of himself, came on and was straight up to speed, and formed a great partnership with woodgate, should start with woody until king has any sort of fitness unless we move corluka to CB.

Bentley 6 - Thought he actually put in a reasonable performance, gave some good effort, and tried to run a make things happen, unfortunately he still looks short ofpace, and whilst delivery was improved, still not back to the level we thought we were buying for 18m.

Do agree with BC, that we are not getting any luck at the moment, the "nugent" goal being a prime example. but we need to stop sending out players that are clearly struggling. Personally i could see no reason for playing king when he was unfit, either play dawson or move corluka and play gunter. Biggest worry now is how long are we gonna have to play bent, if pav is injured, don't mind against burnley or manu in the cup, cos i suspect both are dead rubbers, but we need another forward before the window shuts in my opinion.

Yeh, getting a hamstring injury is so terrible for a modern day athlete. You would think that they would be fit enough to avoid such injuries:bang:

I take it you didn't see Zokora's pass into Modric for our goal after having the ball 3 or 4 times in that move?

I'm not going to get narky as we are all entitled to an opinion and all that jazz..... but i hope you don't mind if I just point out many flaws with your pessimistic and frankly ridiculous match ratings....(and point out a few spelling mistakes....)

1.Gomes......."did fuck all apart from pick the ball out the net".....right...where to start..... He didn't actually have much to do throughout the entire game, couldn't do anything about the goal and it's not his fault harry started him with a fucked leg is it? (probably the reason he didn't kick) .

2.Corluka...Didn't astound, but made a very important challenge in the first half, and i feel did his job very capably. ( a 5 is rash)

3. Woodgate.... I actually agree with this one!

4. King... Words cannot describe the rage i'm cageing trying not to give myself a brain hemerage by smacking myself in the head with my keyboard... "Sick of watching this lumbering twat, waddle around the pitch. Great player, yes. Worth the inconsistency that he brings, NO."..... That lumbering twat had been the best CB at our club for many a season you ranting loon. He fights for every fucking inch of grass which is more than can be said for a lot of the panzies we've had wearing the shirt over the years. He has an injury that many players would retire from, yet he sticks on the shirt gives it his all and is more often than not the best player on the fucking pitch....Ohh and VERY VERY rarely does he have a shit game, so how u can call him inconsistant it far beyond me.

5. Bale..... Im sorry to hear your disappointed with our youngest starting member of the first team. In his first full premiership season since recovering from an injury. I will hold my hands up, he isn't ready for premiership football quite yet, yet he has 15+ years of football ahead of him. As for the "jug eared twat" comment....no need to get personal, im sure he wouldn't rub it in your face that he earns more in a week than you do in a year?

6. Lennon.....He was first class today.....much improved, his delivery much much better and he was pretty much our only attacking and creative outlet today. Scared the shit out of there back 4 and had a few good efforts on goal. You must be blind or stupid, or indeed both.

7. O'Hara... "Slow, useless, rubbish. Oh well done Jamie, you try really hard, well fucking done. Embarasingly shit midfielder."....Ohh dear....He has one poor game and hes useless.... 8.Zokora.....Not shit, not shit, not shit. Not world class (dont get me wrong) But played a few nice passes in the build up and as someone mentioned had the highest Pass % of our whole team.

9.Modric.... Yet again linked up the play well along with lennon my MOTM (for our side). Wheres this "he cant play at home" rollox come from?. Should be playing for a better side than us. Hes pulling a lot of peoples weight creatively....so please....stop being ridiculous

But is still our top goal scorer this season and had to play with a little man, which we no doesnt work well. This is very harsh. But strangely, I can see where you are coming from. It looks like you can only see the negative side of them all and their play this season. Were we consistently playing like ManU in title winning form and expected to win week in week out I might be disappointed and mark in this way. Unfortunately we, like most teams in the bottom half are struggling to put it together right now. We are in a poor run of form with players lacking confidence. We are not great but we are not truly this awful, yet. We didn't win but we had chances today to win it. So, on today's game and looking at any positive impact I'd go...

Pavluchenko 6 Looked OK While he was on.

Bent 4 Very poor not just that miss, his position was in the main poor.
Dawson 7 Another good performance, perhaps the knockers will give the lad a break.
Bentley 6 That's more like it. Improvement on recent weeks.

Bale 5 - Still very poor defensively. Always positioned on the wrong side of the opponent. Nugent had a good game courtesy of him
King 6 - Early exit
Woodgate 7 - Steady
Corluka 7 - Great last ditch block. Good going forward but a little slow

Zokora 7 - He's everywhere...covering for the attacking minded Modric
Ohara 6 - Not at his best
Modric 7 - Fantastic in the hole but lost when he doesn't have the ball
Lennon 8 - Gave a great performance, MOTM

Defoe 7 - Only real threat on Pompey goal
Pavluchenko 6 - Unfortunate he had to go off for Bent.

Bent 4 - Tried hard but that's all he's got really
Dawson 7 - Good replacement for King
Bentley 6 - Finally gets it that if he doesn't perform he doesn't play

Zokora 6 - The problem with zokora is the same as normal, work rate is excellent he is such a trier, he has such pace and is able to run effectively with the ball, yes he can pass sideways in our half to modric etc, but when he gets forward he goes to jelly, cant make key passes or shoot.

Apart from the pass forward to Modric which he set up the goal from, right? Also, can we just clarify that Pavlyuchenko was shit before he went off? ALSO, I don't get where some of you are coming from on Gomes. He had about 3 things to do the whole match, and he fucked one of them up.
