Well King wasn't playing.......................................oh wait he was.
Dawson is shit and shouldn't play..........................oh he wasn't playing.
Jenas is shit and doesn't contribute enough............oh he scored

Well that covers the most regular excuses so lets see what else people can come up with this week. It should be interesting.

Bent was playing........................oh wait he wasn't.

I think this team has been constructed so fucking poorly and without any sight of where we want to go that it seems that the gang of four are rather a joke at this point.

Couldnt agree more, wee have signed a collection of players who as far as i can see dont have a fecking position, apart from Bently who doesnt play where he should.

We need players who have Premiership experience, not big names who have done very little to get their big name.

I just knew when the commentator said in the build up to their 2nd goal "is it going to get better for Sunderland here" that they would score.

We only seemed to play after they scored their 1st, I thought we would go on to win, but there's no threat from us up front.

Bent on his own doesn't work, to think that not that long ago we were struggling to keep Berbs, Keano, Defoe and Bent happy and now we're left with just Bent...

This needs sorting this week and in time for whoever comes in to play next weekend or I hate to think where we're going to be come Xmas.

I think the team will improve but you can't just have the one striker, it isn't working. Bent got just one decent ball to run onto the whole game.

We lack a DM, when we were linked with Veloso i was happy, he would provide the brawn we need desperately to shield the defense. This is unlike Ramos, even at Sevilla he had Poulsen and later, Keita shielding the back four. I remember saying this about Spurs needing a DM last season aswell, its fucking laughable.

We have no figurehead to go through going forward, we had Berbatov and Keane, now have neither. The midfield creates chances, good balls in etc that you know lots of great strikers would latch on to and hit home. But there is no one, Bent is useless, especially as a lone striker. Jenas is a turd who attacks ineffectively, needs about two dozen or more chances to finally burry one, and left the major defensive work to little Modric who got stuck in but was against blokes twice his size. When Jenas did try to defend he screwed that up aswell, and he is the VICE CAPTAIN!!!

One preferably two strikers and a defensive midfielder, in a week is what we need. Think its going to happen? no, i dont either.

I thought Jenas wasn't even playing 1st half but he did much better in the more advanced role 2nd and scored so what more do you want ?

If Bent is gouing to be the only striker he needs service and didn't get it...end of.

Modric, Jenas, Bentley, Dos Santos and Lennon all want to occupy the same area when we're going forward. The amount of players standing next to each other on the edge of the box when we were in attacking was a joke, and so glaringly obvious.

We can't tackle as a team.

We can't get numbers in the box.

We can't head the ball.

We didn't tell the midfield that Bent was playing today.

My observations:

Having only one striker in our first team squad was always going to be a significant contributor. Its all very well saying “Berba go/stay” but we shouldn't have let Keane go until a replacement for him came in. Robbie is a decent lad and would've waited I'm sure?

So we either have a cunning plan to sign all the players we need on deadline day, or some of our expected deals have stalled, probably fallen through.

Modric and Jenas in the middle doesn't work. Ok so they linked up for the goal, but it was a bit of a ping-pong affair rather than a well crafted maneuver. Modric was getting bossed here there and everywhere just like last week. He cant win the ball nor keep hold of it, and it was just the same in pre-season. A very bad buy in my opinion.

The back four looked fast asleep today and will always do so if we keep changing the personnel sitting in those positions. We need to find a genuine replacement for Ledley, not just back up cover.

Gio looked bright and I couldn't understand why he didnt start ahead of Lennon, the latter was his usual ineffective self. Hudd also looked more up to the job than Modric. Bentley was our best player but can’t do it all, Jenas tried to get in the thick of it but only looks good when surrounded by quality players.

So in a nutshell, we need major surgery in the remaining days of the transfer window otherwise we will continue to drift aimlessly like the previous two seasons.

CB, DM & 2 x Strikers required, which is fact what we have needed all summer but we have instead pissed a load of money on similar midfielders to one the ones we let go of.

Groan!

Oh to have had a fully commited Berbs out there today, I'm sure we would have won then.

This whole tapping up business has screwd us up big time

The one up front didn't get the supply that someone up front could do with to to the job.

I also notice a few times that when our midfielders looked up to play a ball through there wasn't an option to pass too. I still believe we lack intelligent movement off the ball.

Yup, gutted again!

As far as I am concerned the season now starts on Monday, 15th September as we are unlikely to get anything from the Chelsea match.

At least come the Villa match on 15th we will have had a 2 week break from the league and the window will be closed so we should, I hope, have bought a few more players and will have sorted the Berbatov situation.

Monday 15th couldn't come soon enough right now!!

for fucks sake what a shambles.

bent doesnt work, if he doesnt get service why doesnt he do anything to get the ball? he's rubbish!!! if keano or berba werent getting any service they would go back and get the fucking ball for themselves, but bent just doent have the brain to do that
