I doubt if we'll get ,much new injury news - Capoue and Lennon are likely to return after the intyernational break with maybe Adebayor back in the squad then too. Kaboul almost certainly out for this match and maybe a couple of weeks - we may find out shortly how long for. Rose looks likely to be a last minute decision as to whether he's fit or not.

So the team :
Lloris
Walker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Naughton or Rose
Paulhino, Dembele
Townsend, Eriksen, Sigurdsson
Soldado

With Kaboul’s injury v Anzhi, the defence pretty much sorts itself out – I guess it’ll be a late decision on whether Rose is fit enough. Chirches will be on the bench, Fryers is not good enough for PL yet.

Likewise midfield is probably sorted – the more creative Paulhino and Dembele are likely to be preferred to the more defensive Sandro, whilst with Lamela, Holtby and Chadli playing all or most of the Anzhi match, the attacking midfielders rested for that match will surely play against West Ham. Same argument applies to the strikers.

So the bench looks to be from :

Freidal, Chirches, Sandro, Lamela, Holtby, Chadli, Defoe (and if Rose is fit, Naughton) or possibly Kane and Fryers.

--------------------------- Lloris -----------------------------
Walker ---- Dawson --------- Vertonghen --- Naughton
----------- Paulinho ------------- Dembele -----------------
-- Townsend ----------- Eriksen -------------- Siggy ----
--------------------------- Soldado ---------------------------

Subs: Friedel, Chiriches, Sandro, Lamela, Defoe, Chadli and Fryers

Why I don't like this lineup:

- Naughton : I just have no faith in him and feel as though he's got a huge bag a screw-up just waiting to be opened. I'd personally rather see Vertonghen on the left and Chiriches next to Dawson, but I don't think we would do that, even if we are playing at WHL.

- Siggy vs. Chadli : I like them both. I think they are both very good. I wish we could play both. These are good problems.

- Defoe vs. Soldado : What do you go with? Form or the player that is out of form but once in form shits on the striker that you have that is in form? I elected for Soldado because we need to get him going if we want to challenge for bigger things than "Just Top 4."

What I like about this lineup:

- Siggy is making it hard to drop him. Siggy has finally found a place in the side. He's been brilliant on the left and has been fantastic at delayed runs into the box. It's a sure-fire way to beat an opponent even if they are parking the bus. And, with a guy like Eriksen potentially feeding him the ball, it's all the more dangerous.

- It's got pace on the right. Razvan Rat I'm assuming will be starting on the left. He won't be able to keep up with Townsend and when he does catch up to him, Walker will simply overload him.

- It's got creativity and attacking impetus. I like the double-pivot because both can get forward and bring something different to the table. West Ham will probably be parking their hippo-headed bus so having a midfielder who can crash the box and mix things up (Paulinho) and also a guy who can dribble past just about anyone and draw attention to himself to hopefully free up Eriksen into space can be nearly impossible for West Ham to account for.

No reflection on Soldado but I'm hoping Defoe gets a good 20 minutes minutes at the end against his former club. JD has certainly earned some kind of Premiership crack and hopefully we'll be a couple up by then with Soldado having got them both.

As Rose is 50/50, even if he gets fit in time, I wouldn't risk bringing him back for this one, especially given the dirtyness of the team we are playing. Stick with Naughton and give Rose the time to properly recover, it will be better for the long run.

I wouldn't play Chiriches against an Allardyce team with is reluctance to challenge in the air. Fat Sam would bombard him with high balls.

I think he needs to massively improve in this area before being exposed to the EPL as a CB.

I think Defoe should start this one to be honest, he has earnt it in my opinion, he has a pretty good record against his old team and I fancy him to bag a few more if he plays. Will give Bobby a little shot in the arm as well!

Usual line up with Naughton sadly at left back.

Would like to see Lamela and Chadli start as I feel they offer more/are better all round players than Townsend and Sig but it would be wrong to drop them as they've both been in good form.

Soldado is a must ... yes he's only scored penalties but he hasn't had much service.

Defoe, banged a few goals in but they've been against poor opposition and he's already shown in the last year that he struggles against quality premiership defences.

Yeah as others have said I think we all know the team, depending on whether Rose is ok to play.

I think we will see pretty much the same team that faced Chelsea (as a lot that didn't played the midweek game and had a long flight) with Rose replacing Naughton at left back.

GK - Lloris
LB - Rose
CB - Vertonghen
CB - Dawson
RB - Walker
CM - Dembele
CM - Paulinho
AM - Sigurdsson
AM - Eriksen
AM - Townsend
CF - Soldado

Subs
Friedel, Naughton, Chiricheș, Sandro, Holtby, Lamela, Defoe
