Not sure about that. Not being helped by a very static defence who are focusing on zones rather than players. I think he is one of the better keepers with the ball at his feet, but he option is either Romero, VDV or Hojbjerg who cannot play on the turn. Get him a decent midfield and a proper defensive coach and we are good. We've had some spectacularly bad luck, and that was in no way a 0-3 half, but weeks/months old problems have again been at the fore.
The football has become hesitant and imprecise and blunt, when before it was crisp and accurate and threatening.
We again get pillaged on a simple counter and concede.
Hopeless defending at set pieces. Both outfield set-up and the keeper.
It's just rinse and repeat at the moment.
Going to go in two-footed with a niche unpopular assessment.... but the goalkeeper isn't going to last the journey if we want to get where the club and manager claim we want to be. Goal 1 largely comes about because initially he feels the pressure with the ball at his feet, Goal 3 simply has to be his to claim and yet he gets weakly pinned in the goal net, again. The first bit of the season was refreshing to see a very solid shot-stopper, but it's clear he's got substantial weaknesses - average at best with ball at feet, and totally in a pickle on the set pieces.
No doubt Vicario is timid from a corner and needs to clear players out the way but he isn't being helped.
