I was just pleased to see what I believe is our strongest eleven starting in the formation that will suit them best (although an argument could be made for Lo Celso instead of Ndombele in certain games).

To be fair to Nuno he's worked that out over 7 games so he might not be quite so bad as some think.

I think Nuno will settle on this 11 or close to it in the near future. PEH needs another battler alongside him in this team, it may take away a little creativity but we get completely overrun when we play 2 more offensive players next to him

We are visibly better when they are all in the team. Alli, Davies, Doherty, Sanchez and Winks should be nowhere near the starting 11 and should all be guided out the door in these next 12 months.

Also, Reguilon had a better game today, playing with more aggressive defenders and players will allow him to get more space and higher up the pitch. Made some good overlaps today.

Agree, although to be fair Sanchez was decent first few games this season. When we have the others like Doherty and Winks in we just look flat, a lot of play safe football, no creativity and not very strong defensively. The midfield today against Villa was much more balanced.

Team selection was very similar to many selected on the Team for Villa thread i.e with PEH & Skippy in midfield and just the one so called creative player in N'dombele, personally was a bit disappointed in him he was getting some stick from those around me .
Thought it was a decent display with some strong performances that Emerson looks a strong lad , defence protected Lloris pretty well with plenty of blocks and just the three shots on target. Think we can say at the moment Harry is no longer King of White Hart Lane , Sonny now has the crown ,Harry has been demoted to Prince.

2nd half was our best offensive display for quite some time. Was in the South and it was chance after chance… great to experience after some of the dour football we’ve endured recently.

I think it helps when you play alongside defenders who are aggressive and can cope in their own. Allows him to focus more on attacking and play higher up.

Whenever we sit back or get pushed back, the likes of Reguilon suffer because he can't play his natural game

Agreed but we have zero alternatives as defensive midfielders. Even PEH isn't an out and out DCM. Skipp deserves to start but he isn't top class just yet. He does a good job.

Of course he's not top class yet, he's 21 playing his 2nd full season of professional football. He has to learn to become top class, but it's clear he has the skillset and above all the mentality to reach that level.

Just say he's doing a good job, and leave it at that. We look a far better team with him than without him.
