I couldn’t make it to my seat today because i come from Bristol and couldn’t find enough petrol so of course it was a good game from us! Lots to like but let’s hope it’s not another false dawn although I thought the attacking intent was much better. N’dombele needs to be deep and I think we all know that but certainly not going to knock his effort and lovely touches for his chance. Son was our key player and always is over the last couple of years when we need him. Truly a Spurs man and shows. I thought Kane was a lot better than recent showings too. Loved Royal, excited for him. Loved Romero too but still a little bit worried about the yellows he’s going to get. Lots of good for a change! They switched to the Spam match after to capped it off seeing Brentford score an injury time winner ? I can’t make the United game because of a wedding so if anyone wants my seat in the south stand it’ll be going up on ticket exchange or to help a fellow fan out I can pass it too a friend apparently. Anyone interested let me know. COYS.

It was quite unfortunate that his first 2 games were against Zaha and Alonso who are both PL veterans, but he looked fantastic today.
He's def our first RB, one thing I will say Romero and RoyalE look like they have settled quickly which was a worry of mine in the summer how long it would take them to adapt.

So much easier to play football without Alli in the team. Thought everyone was great.

Gio should have come in ten minutes earlier. Ndombele lost possession in dangerous space and Lo Celso adds more control.

We looked like a team lacking confidence and craving a win. Lloris' decision near the end to come charging out of his box instead of providing Reguilon with a safe option to head to was nuts and the confidence we had on the ball at the start was minimal. A few of them out there often chose the wrong option when passing and put their team mates in the shit; drawing the opposition press onto us and forcing long punts. I'm still waiting to see something that resembles a tidy possession game.

I thought Dier and Romero were fairly effective. Rodon might be a more suitable partner to Romero in the end, but Dier did well. He still suffers from moments of poor decision making and I don't think he'll ever work that out of his game, but he defended very well for the most part. Emerson and Reguilon really grew into the game and were great going forward and back.

I've a slight concern with Hojbjerg. When he's allowed to press and win the ball high up he's great, but when Skipp steps out to do the same he sometimes forgets that he is the deepest CM and charges out. Tanguy was great in bursts, did his defensive work well and probably should've got a goal. GLC was good after coming on.

Kane still looks knackered to me. It seems harsh, but he just looks a shade of the player we're used to seeing. Son on the other hand was immense and my MOTM. The guy really is our most important player now and needs looking after. Ironically, our worst player today was our match winner. Lucas really had a game that reminded me of why he was on many peoples out list over the summer.

So yeah...a game to be happy about, but I'm not over egging it. We are a long way from where we want to be playstyle wise, but there were signs of improvement to be hopeful over.

The bar was set very low after last week but there were some decent patterns of play and had midfielders playing in midfield

Sonny just outstanding. Liked Royal he was very good along with Reguilon both getting forward a lot more with a better formation. Kane came alive when GLC came on and he’ll be right soon. Nuno credit for finally waking up to fact Dele was a passenger and 4-3-3 wasn’t right, little late with taking Ndombele off he ran out of gas 15 minutes earlier. Last word goes to Romero looks calm and solid.

Thought emerson was solid. That back 5 needs a run of games together
Yea and to be fair Dier was decent today, lots of good blocks although I'm not sure if he is the best partner for Romero long-term as against Chelsea Dier was exposed but then again are Sanchez and Rodon much better right now?

Mabye longer-term we need to sign another top CB and mabye for now Dier is the best to play LCB and he seems to have the best left foot out of the 3 choices but as you say either way its good for defences to get a run of games together so lets hope they can all stay fit and can do that.

Agree with those questionning Skipp, he gets a pass as he is one of our own, honest, hardworking and does little wrong but he is far from the finished article and someone who should be starting centre mid for a top 4 challenging team. He definitely has the potential to be exactly that but I think people get a bit carried away re: how good he currently is.

1) Yeah, and now he's living up to his rep. What's got you so triggered over that? It's factual.
2) No, I don't think I will.
1) Because "finally living up to his reputation" makes it sound like he's been shit, whereas he's only played a couple of games.
2) No, I don't expect you will either.

Think Dier Romero could work. Romero will make him better

We look so much more solid when he is sitting in front of the defence, thinks he’s doing a top job and will only get better.
