Just on the way home from the game. I thought we made them look fairly average and had we taken quite a few good chances we could have won by three of four goals. Villa are no mugs yet we made them look fairly average.

Paratici’s player signings have worked out well so far although it’s still early days.
We are visibly better when they are all in the team. Alli, Davies, Doherty, Sanchez and Winks should be nowhere near the starting 11 and should all be guided out the door in these next 12 months.

Also, Reguilon had a better game today, playing with more aggressive defenders and players will allow him to get more space and higher up the pitch. Made some good overlaps today.

A good performance today against an in form Villa side.

Great to take a good win with us into the internatiobal break.

Only exception is Davies. If he stays as a squad player that would be great IMHO

Thought the response to villa equalising was excellent. And we control the game well after getting back in front.
Great to see, showed me we actually do have some mental strength in the team. So pleased with the whole team but just wished we showed this performance against the scum last week.

It was very scrappy overall, but some signs of life and we had back the hustle and scrap of the opening couple of games. We can all talk about performance, quality of football, what we want to see, etc. but if you aren't prepared to work hard, have some desire, and match your opponents as a starting point then you've got no chance.

As I say, I don't think it was spectacular but we were the only team with any semblance of quality and trying to play football. Son was the superior player to everyone on the pitch in terms of threat and causing chaos. And really if long ball, long throw Villa had come out of that with anything it would have been a travesty.

I was at the game and thought we played well and looked a tidy side after the first 10 minutes.

Special mention for our whole defence who dealt with the long throws from Cash and nullified the Villa attacks really well throughout.

I thought Romero was our best player, his positional sense looks on point and definitely makes Dier look a better player.

We look so much more solid when he is sitting in front of the defence, thinks he’s doing a top job and will only get better.

Agreed but we have zero alternatives as defensive midfielders. Even PEH isn't an out and out DCM. Skipp deserves to start but he isn't top class just yet. He does a good job.

8 shots on target is a massive improvement against a decent side - let’s hope the last 2 games have raised confidence levels and we improve from here
