I expect to see Brighton play the better, more structured and organised football this evening. I expect their team to look much more than the sum of its parts, and for neutral observers to be genuinely surprised that we are supposedly the 'bigger' team. I still expect us to win, but through a moment of brilliance or by capitalising on a big mistake, not by outplaying them.

It's still too early to judge Jose, but so far I haven't seen much to suggest that he knows how to coach tactics into his teams, or even that he knows what tactics he'd like us to play to (beyond 'sit deep and counter').

If we can get a win today I think there'll be a big opportunity to go top next weekend.

so we go second if we win..............so we definitely will NOT win.
We’re also home today. Which would be good news besides for the fact we’ve decided to shit the bed at home for some reason thus far. So Brighton could very well get something out of this.

We have to win this game to keep the momentum. We've got a hellish run coming up so will need as many points as possible going into them.

Brighton are very up and down. They seem to be capable of playing brilliantly for 45 minutes but can turn to complete dross without warning. They could've scored 2 or 3 in the first half against West Brom and then played like a complete shower after half time so you never really know what you're going to get from them. One positive is that they're really poor in front of goal and the likes of Maupay, Trossard and March always seem to need about 5 chances to score.

Hopefully we actually turn up today because if we match them for effort our quality should carry us through. We're almost the complete opposite of them in many ways: quick, direct and clinical compared vs patient, intricate and wasteful so it should be an interesting game. Fingers crossed we don't catch them on one of the rare occasions their players remember how to shoot as they can be a real handful when they're at their best but if they aren't we should really batter them today.

Brighton could have had about 6 goals vs United and they are very quick and precise with their passing. Hopefully we deny them some space in the final third and exploit them at the back.

Don't want a tight affair today.

The decisions that will dictate the performance:

-Reguilon or Davies?

-Lo Celso or Sissoko?

-Aurier or Doherty?

-Bale or Lamela or Bergwijn or Lucas?

The question Mourinho should be asking himself is which mixture of four of the above players can have the squad competing for the title and be ready to beat City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal in the next 6 weeks? He needs to be identifying his best XI and have them playing each league match. Even if your most talented players haven't found their best form, there's nothing in the form of Doherty, Lucas, Sissoko or Davies that warrants they start league matches.

I can make an argument for Docherty but Winks and Sissoko getting starts over Lo Celso boggles my mind.

I think its very clear what our best XI is on paper. I’m just not sure Jose will ever play that much of a forward thinking lineup. So if GLC & Ndombele are in the XI together, you can guarantee our defensive RW, Lucas, will be as well.

I don’t think we have a set tactic of how we play to a certain extent. We generally set up to the opposition we are playing. I think we will defend deep today and hit Brighton on the break and we will win quite easily imo

I wonder if anyone will be brave enough to ask Jose why Dele isn’t on the bench today ?

Our goal scoring prowess doesn’t bode well for Brighton, who have conceded the second-highest number of goals (12) in the Premier League in 2020/21, with Graham Potter’s side without a win in four and tasting victory just once from six games so far. The Seagulls will give as good as they get going forward, but do they have enough to stop Kane, Son and Co?

Given how much better we’ve been with Lamela in the team, surely he starts?

Noticeable that after the Villa game only Arsenal have conceded less goals than us, 7 to our 8.
