Whilst watching the terrible England match i couldn't help but draw comparisons with ourselves....

Both teams vastly underachieving

We both have a keeper crisis

We wear all white

We bring on Defoe and Bent to try and save a game

We've changed manager

Makeshift defence

No natural left sided midfielder

When England got to 2-2, how the team reacted did remind me of Spurs. They decided to give away the intiative and sit back. Trying unsuccessfully to stroke it around at the back, sitting deeper and deeper. We do it all the time when we have a narrow lead. Resorting to booming it forward instead of keeping hold of it.

Qualification for England wasn't an unrealistic expectation.

True, but in general we expect too much. Every WC or Euro Championships our media and fans seem to think we will go close, but we never really do. Away from home we've made one semi final in 70+ years. We have no reason to think we are any good, yet we always do. In my life time other than the Germany 5-1 win and Holland 4-1 win, I don't think England have ever played like a truely top side and I must have seen us play over 100 times.

You don't think we're gonna finish in the top half this season?

I don't think England fans expect too much of England at all. The same can't be said for Tottenham though.

We bring on Defoe and Bent to try and save a game Yeah.

We've changed manager England had a shite manager to start with.

Makeshift defence Englands defence of Terry/Rio will be back next campain and Ledley better be back soon or im going to fucking kill someone.

No natural left sided midfielder Joe Cole? Still awesome on the left, Gareth Bale? pfft.

got to say i agree with this

one more that i would add is that england dont play as a team, something we probably were guilty of for a fair crack of games

- can´t hold onto leads
- enjoy sitting back deeper and deeper as they face decent opposition

Curiously Stevie Gerrard claimed that the problems was that we were too adventurous after drawing level, and should have sat back and defended our lead...
