Harry Winks is the new Tom Carroll. Harry will soon find the right level but there is no way that he is anywhere near good enough for a PL team. Championship at best. I won’t be surprised when I see him lining out for a Swansea or a Hull in a season or two. He’d be a good pro for a team at that level but not for ourselves!

Winks will be in Tottenham or another top6 club in season or two(or even three).

United's midfield -

Pogba - Can be truly sublime on his day although he frustrates too. Scores goals

Fernandes - One of the best in the league, always contributes towards goals and assists.

Fred - Not perfect but he does give a nice balance and is quite progressive with the ball.

McTominay - Gets hammered but hes a brave player, is strong and quite dependable.

Matic - Not the same player but hes very difficult to get off the ball (as Gerard stated), good passer, progressive and has a solid shot.

Van De Beek - technically very good, execllent movement, gets assists and gets into the penalty area.

I could do the same for City. I could do the same for Liverpool.

Now compare that to ours.

Midfields win you games because they can control the game, they help cover the defence in defensive transition and they provide the springboard/creativity in attacking transitions.

Ours is not capable.

Precisely. We might get away with it in a cup, but we won’t sustain a proper title challenge with midfielders like Winks, Sissoko, Lucas, Lamela, Bergwyn, Lo Celso and Ndombele. A lack of quality with the ball, fitness issues and a very low goal threat. PEH is the only one worth keeping. Dele should insist on a move. Bale has been a fanciful waste of time and money.

"Good enough.." Mainly says a lot about the lack of good options at the moment, he wouldn't even get a call up if he was German, Spanish, French, Belgian or Dutch etc.
Dahoud, Rudy, Propper, Strootman and Klaassen were called up for these nations in recent times and he isn't worse than them.

When I hear the line "hold up, but Liverpool only drew with them also"
Fuck That!! The bin dippers should have stuffed them also. We were awful, as usual, after scoring.

Sissoko wouldn't pass water

There was alot of talk about this team needing leader's. Didnt see one on that pitch tonight.
Its not about leaders when you play like that! How can the players lead when the manager tells them to sit back when we are ahead regardless of the opposition.

Sissoko was clearly not working today, not that he played badly as such, it just wasn't working. What does Jose do? Change the shape? No. A sub? No. He does nothing.

It is the same week in and week out.

Weve shown what we can do when we're allowed to actually play. Clearly, Jose prefers for us to not lose, rather than go out and try to win.

Need I quote Danny Blanchflower?

This is not the spurs way!

I can’t believe people think we sat back after going one nil up. We went for it. The strikers missed the chances. No idea what people were watching. Fulham went behind and attacked. What else were they going to do? Sit there and let us score. I do wonder some times.
Went for it? Went for it how? You call that going for it?

Yes we missed a few chances, but we certainly didn't go for it. We sat back, as usual, and handed the momentum to Fulham who gratefully grasped it with both hands.

Top Championship - Newcastle, Palace etc. level yes.

Bottom line is that he is certainly not good enough to be a regular starter for us.
he obviously is, because he does start regularly. He's not good enough for the fantasy team you want us to have, and I understand that, but it is just a fantasy at the moment.

That is scape goating. He isn't suited to Jose's tactics but he is a decent player.

When you line up with hojberg, sissoko and winks ar home to Fulham, you are going to struggle!

This is squarly down to Jose not winks.

pretty ridiculous to be slating him today anyway whatever your opinion of him as he was one of the better players in the match.

6 starts so far in the league and it's half January, just like Sissoko he has absolutely no business in being in the XI for a top four contender (let alone a team that wants to actually challenge)... You know you've got big problems in the squad if those two start the important matches.
