6 starts so far in the league and it's half January, just like Sissoko he has absolutely no business in the XI for a top four contender.
I agree we need a holding midfielder with a better range of passing than Winks or Sissoko
or Hojbjerg. I dont agree with bashing the players we have for not being whatever someone thinks they should be. You dance with who brung ya.

2021 and Winks & Sissoko are both in the starting line up.

Banter club.
Poch clearly wanted to upgrade them with Lo Celso & Ndombele. We'll never know what his intentions were to do with that though.

The problem we have now is those two players have issues with injury or being able to sustain performance for 90 minutes and they need to be fitted into a new system as well. Also, it remains to be seen whether they can actually match play in that system with each other in a balanced way.

The truth is we are still paying for poor recruitment over the years.

Just got to hope Jose is allowed to bring in better quality that suits this system

No need to bash them.. They are simply not good enough and are performing nowhere near the levels required, that's not their fault as they try their best. It's a genuine lack of talent.

I am in no way calling for his head but this one was on Jose for his team selection and not making attacking changes at the 60 minute mark. I don't believe he told them to sit back in the second half, but the midfield was so static that early attacking changes would have definitely seen us put the game to bed. That is what is so frustrating with all this. I knew Fulham would score as we were just inviting pressure on ourselves. Jose seems to have maximum faith inviting teams to attack. I do not. I really do want to see Rodon and Tanganga getting some game time.

We had our chances, didn't take them. We played between average and okay, but sometimes I would like to give credit to the opposition. Fulham had a good shape and work their backsides off. Despite the result, I actually enjoyed the game. COYS.

Have we come from behind - or gone ahead again having conceded an equaliser under Mourinho yet?

This was a hallmark of Spurs 2016-2018 - we had the ability to wrestle points back having gone behind or conceded an equaliser. It was a great mentality.

I want to see that under Mourinho. It used to be a hallmark of his sides.

Reguilon, Lo Celso, Bergwijn, Lloris, Dele, Winks, Aurier, Davinson, Dier, Davies etc would have suitors for various reasons(or had them in last windows). And that's the real truth of it, not overreacting after match we didn't win but should.

Last part of my comment was a bit tongue in cheek, but just to clarify I meant our rivals when I said suitors, not just any old team. The quality is the problem I was trying to highlight. It's the usual suspects all the time. Winks, Sissoko, Sanchez etc these players whilst useful are nowhere near the required level to take us forward.

Another thing I would like to add, Leicester won the league about 5 years ago now. Except for Vardy and Sssssschmicheal, they have pretty much changed the entire team. We need to be refreshing our squad in the same manor. Not wholesale changes but quality additions that upgrade on what we have now. Keep the useful players for back up. This summer window was a good start, but we are still a few additions off from being solid contenders. Until then, we should be patient and accept that results like last night will happen.

WALOB Josè ??
I cannot defend this defensive biting SHIT!!!
And I thought you changed!!!

Not like me to come on a match thread and rant. BOLLOCKS OFF!

We can't have watched the same game. When we went up 1-0, we continued to attack. We should have scored several goals, but we didn't. Unlucky, but shit happens.

When the second half started Fulham flew out of the block, just like in the first half. We got nervous, and we couldn't manage to string passes together to get out of the press. It wasn't a defensive tactic, we didn't sit back, we got stressed and nervous. It's a mental thing, not a tactical thing. That may also be Josés fault, but please stop with the "defensive football" bullshit, because that is clearly not the issue.

Precisely. We might get away with it in a cup, but we won’t sustain a proper title challenge with midfielders like Winks, Sissoko, Lucas, Lamela, Bergwyn, Lo Celso and Ndombele. A lack of quality with the ball, fitness issues and a very low goal threat. PEH is the only one worth keeping. Dele should insist on a move. Bale has been a fanciful waste of time and money.
Wow... Just wow, really.
And yet it is precisely that group of players that managed 6-1 at Old Trafford and stufffed City and Arsenal 2-0, and had 3 golden opportunities to beat Liverpool.
Mourinho can set the team up, create a game plan and tell the players how to execute it. But what he cannot do is put the ball in the back of the net for them.
I'm not blind, I know we are frustrating to watch. But the players must know by now that they WILL get opportunities to score.
SO DO IT!

I'd be worried if we weren't creating many chances but we did and just couldn't get that 2nd. They applied some pressure and we wilted. It's happening to often now and needs to be rectified.

Much prefer now
for the opposition to go ahead early
so we are forced to come out and play
so that when we equalise
we at least have momentum.

If we go ahead early
its early closing day
and we drift to a draw.
despite a hectic but unsuccessful last ten minutes.

The relegation strugglers were the better team last night.
I hope we win the Carabao
then Jose can fuck off
with his head held high
and we can get back
to playing some football

One small pleasure i have during lock down is watching football . Watching Tottenham takes that pleasure away.

How have we lost the ability to play attacking football. We can still defend by putting everyone behind the ball.

I could coach the team in with the way they are playing. Its got to stop NOW!
