I'm horrendously grumpy when we used - particularly to United. They seem to somewhat arrogantly see us as fodder for " a club of their size". Berba, Carrick, Sheringham - just hated losing our top players to them. That Anders Herrera guy is someone I wish we would kick in the unmentionables. I love it that Levy has continually told them to get ****ed since the days of Berba. Bale etc etc.

However, have to slightly disagree with the Lloris and Trips observation.

Lloris has been somewhat erratic in general as a keeper over the last 12 months. A top sweeper but surprisingly poor lapses of judgement in terms of timing and positioning for someone generally very good. I mean the World Cup final for heavens sake.

Trips has been ok. Top delivery and ball rotation. Its a lack of pace that can be exploited by opposition.
Trippier is like an old style Right sided midfielder. Great delivery but can't defend. Time to sell in the Summer whilst his stock is high. I just don't get how Davies is lumped in with Trippier from yesterday. How was he at fault ? Granted Rose is better going forward, but we've not seen 'Rose 2016' for some time.

True and a good point, but Trippier knows Sissoko is not on the field. His mistake.

Mind you, I also think if Poch has played Sanchez instead of Vertonghen it would not have resulted in a goal. Poch opted to leave Sanchez on the bench against Liverpool earlier in the season and I think that was a selection error too. It’s not like Vertonghen has been in amazing form either. He hasn’t played a game in weeks.

Against the raw pace of the Utd front 3 it seemed an odd defensive selection opting for Trippier, Davies and Vertonghen over pacier options

Was in a bitch of a mood losing to Manx; all mixed in with their recent hype; incessantly intimating Poch is their’s etc. When Sissoko went off I knew we’d be in trouble - never thought I’d type that! He’s become my favourite player of late, along with Son.. We did look somewhat flatter than normal; didn’t take our chances; they did. Can’t stand pogba tho’; releases the same emotions in me that Terry at Chelsea used to. And, breathe.....

What's the average time?

Poor finishing and a De Gea in form were our down fall last night. I hate when we start to sound like Liverpool fans.

Yeah I find the ref obsession annoying. It starts even before the game and continues right through and then again afterwards. It seems to have no correlation to whether we have been robbed or not, it’s just constant and in my mind is just a deflection of our own shortcomings.

We have never had a player booked for taking the ball to the corner flag in the last 5 mins of a game, i wish we had.

You are completley correct regarding the fking ref tho, should of booked pogba for the tackle on ali at least plus throwing the ball away at the same time, the ref let them dictate the pace of the game, absolute disgrace.

Not taking the ball to the corner flag. Blatant time wasting

What is the difference tho mate? time wasting is time wasting, if we do it we cant really complain when it happens to us, i hate it by the way, both against us and when we are doing it, i have spoke up about it before on here.

Disagree. I wasat the end that ManU were attacking in the first half and on the side Trippier plays. We handled United very well with a clear plan of players backing each other up defensively. Trippier was supported by Sissoko who has the strength as well as pace needed. Trippier a few times made very slack passes or controlled the ball poorly but at the key moment of course Moussa had just come off injured and so Tripps was shorn of that support. His mistake cost us as under no pressure he gave away the ball as our players were moving forward in anticipation of him making proper use of the ball. Vertongen was excellent.

The difference is the referee can control the time wasting when the ball is dead. Not when someone is keeping it in the corner and in play.

Twice yesterday fans refused to throw the ball back. I suspect they were either mentally challenged or man United fans among us.

Yeah I agree, so its the ref your pissed with and not the act of time wasting?

Exactly. I have no problem with it especially when we do it but there has to be consistency and if teams are doing it from the first minute action needs to be taken earlier than the referees currently do.

Mike Dean needs sacking for not addressing this. It was terrible officiating.

Time wasting like this is something that really gets my goat.

About time Refs started punishing this earlier on in games and not in the closing minutes of games which so often happens.

The team are a great prospect but as you say always fall short through one reason or another, I think in many ways we have been fortunate not to have had 3/4 draws otherwise we would probably be sitting 6/7th.
Six defeats at this stage is not very good and 3 of them all at home to rivals around us with still 3 big away game's to come we could be looking at 10 defeats by the end of the season and that is not good.
But we have to be thankful that the club are doing their best with what they have and hope they somehow win the lottery.

Yeah, for longer term Spurs fans, it's so much better to be nearly men than nowhere men, but it's still biting at times to fall short. There's no doubting the bar being set in the last few seasons by the eventual winners are just phenomenal rates of consecutive wins. And we can't quite get there, despite points hauls that are still fantastic.

This season would require a near-miracle for us to win it, but I still hope that a wobble by the top two could happen and would like us to be in the right spot to capitalize, especially if we move in to our new home in March.

There always seem to be one issue or another why we fall short it just seems to be nigh on impossible for us to win anything, having said that I never expected us to win the league I think getting to 2nd with the team and injuries was an achievement in itself poch just needs to be backed better.

Boly just sent off for Wolves at City for a studs up challenge. Pogba got away with it yesterday. Shows how the decisions can change games.
