Should have gone for the juggler, but I get why we didn't. We're still fragile.

Good fightback. Much better
It's actually really good management under the circumstances.

Think Mason was worried we'd overstretch and some players maybe tiring so he wanted to prevent defeat.

Now he can point to a fightback that wasn't in vain

Draw at Liverpool? We showed fight tonight. Amazing that a change of psychology can help in such a short time.
Im not looking at Europe; but just a decent run-in finish to the season.

I don't get playing for the draw there. Our season is over, give the fans something to cheer.

Maybe I'm just ingrained it in but if we kept pushing we would have been picked off. Still got the Bournemouth game in my mind and so will the players

Couldn't disagree more, Dier was horrific and missed a sitter to top it off. Peh is a fraud, hides in the middle, some of his passing is terrible as well. Richy tried but very poor again and Son was miserable apart from the goal. Yes we battled well at times but got it to 2-2 then sat back again, what good was a draw.
Biggest disappointment of the night is the lack of obv noise on tv re protests against levy and co.
Is it always raining where you are?

Game of two halves.
Better energy, but still a weak press for a lot of the game.

Our attacking options are great really but defensively I think we are as good as our weakest link and Dier is just shocking. Too slow, backs off all the time and gets turned way too easily. We need a commanding presence at the back.

I enjoyed seeing Romero play as the 'roaming destroying centre half' role in that second half

I don’t care what anyone says. Having psycho romero prowling the pitch must be fucking terrifying for the opposition.

Except that clawing it back from 2-0 down has meant nothing as a draw is about as useful as a loss for CL qualification. Sure we get some nice feel goods but I'd be happier seeing us lose trying to win than us draw trying not to lose.

Edit: and I'd say I've generally been one of the more positive people in the thread throughout the game. I just don't get that mentality at 2-2.
it wasn't bad sub tbf... he still left 3 forwards on the pitch..

Yeah once you think about it it’s good management. Had they got a third it would have knocked the stuffing out of us. Maybe he learnt from the Bournemouth game.

Was lovely to see them trying and not look hopeless for a change. Actually tried a few footbally things for a change. First game in so long that I could enjoy at least part of.. Happy, and not just for the result.

Mate I wouldn't upset yourself hoping for CL qualification that's long gone.

Ten Hag takes the L from that game despite his team getting a point. 2 nil up away from home at a team playing with no confidence at all half time.
He proceeds to play a stupidly high line with his team spread out wide all over the pitch and we create more chances than we have all season. Overrated manager, we should have absolutely won that game it was right there for us.

After Newcastle, we just needed to stop the bleeding. Season got away from us, but we had to show some level of pride, and it feels like we have done that. Yes, we should have gone for a win, but, we had to stop the free-fall first.

Just get through the season with dignity intact, and go again next season.
