My 9 year old just keeps asking me how a 15 year old keyboard warrior can have an 11 year old son, and if it's true, no wonder he's crying all the time.

Your niece is very astute because my 10 year old daughter and my 15 and 17 year old sons all think I'm a **** too.
Sometimes we hug about it and the tears flow.
I got lucky. Have always been incredibly close to my son. Had a few 'teenager asshole' moments over the years, but nothing outside the realms of ordinary for that age range. He'll be 21 next July. In his second year at College studying Music Production and Engineering at Berklee School of Music in Boston (yes, that was a humble brag).

Fortunately for him, he isn't fond of sports. Either playing or watching. So, the Spurs curse was not passed on. Some days it makes me sad. But most of the time, I'm relieved -- it feels like a cruel imposition to put upon a child who was already emotionally volatile!! (I jest - sorta).

But it has been funny over the years - as he'd always know on the weekend if Spurs lost, as I'd be in a crappy mood. He couldn't wrap his head around why I'd let something I have no control over make me sad or mad. (Coming from the kid who'd go on a screaming rampage while playing a video game!!!)

I was only joking and I'd like to think I've got a decent relationship with my kids.
My eldest doesn't really do football yet, he's cricket mad and my daughter supports West Ham, after her mother but thankfully the middle one is fully COYS.
