The one thing going in our favour and the way we are playing, is I can't see Newcastle coming here and setting up with a low block and trying to hit us on the counter. They will come to play, which will give us more space in the final 3rd, but we have to move the ball quicker and attack it.

Expect Newcastle to physically dominate us like west ham did in 2nd half. They are a very physical side which we won't be able to stand up to imo. Expect at least a yellow for Romero in it too as they seem to be good at winding up opposition. Expecting another loss unfortunately

He is an injury doubt and limped off on Thursday, we have another game on Friday. Maybe we shouldn't take risks.
We're playing on Friday? We've had more fucking weekday games this season than our last European season I swear.

Watching us vs Waste Ham on TV I thought our crowd was quite underwhelming overall. Tonight Villa raised the roof most of the match against Le Arse and it played a part. I know it was only Waste Ham but still a vital home game to get back on track plus still a derby. Such a missed opportunity.

So please - if you are going to the stadium vs Newcattle - make it count and those around you!
I’m going to the game but am tempted to stay absolutely silent now in order to punish you for using the terms ‘Waste Ham’ and ‘Le Arse’.

Winning 14 home games on the bounce may have something to do with the support at villa. They're at least as fickle as we are.

Newcastle fans on their forum all saying Howe needs to rest Trippier and Lacelles before their crucial midweek CL match…

Could be a near full 2nd choice back line for them and a very tired midfield and front 3/6 or he might rotate some of them as well.

Hopefully we take advantage of that and the fact they have less fans travelling down.

If we want to stay in touch at the top we need to win this one , rough them up a bit they will be thinking about CL midweek .
Like to see the energy of Sarr back in midfield.

When they were struggling, the stadium was half empty.

The season they got relegated, they only brought 700 fans to the stadium.

They aren't great fans.

It sounds like travel down from up north by train is going to be an absolute nightmare today.

Vicario

Porro - Romero - Davies - Udogie

Bissouma

Sarr - GLC

Deki - Son - Johnson

Subs: Forster, Dorrington, PEH, Royal, Gil, Veliz, Skipp, Donley, Richy

I'm going with a 4-1 win for us

Looks fine on paper, but Deki, Son, Johnson isn't firing at all as a front line.

Taking my son to this one - he’s only ever seen us lose 1 (the villa game)
He has a 12-1 record!
cost me a bloody fortune so hoping we get our mojo back and put a few away - any please no VAR - it’s so tedious

Would switch things up slightly

Vicario
Porro Romero Davies Udogie
Kulu Bissouma Gio
Johnson Son Richy

One things for sure we definitely need a better atmosphere than Thursday night, that was very flat. Almost as if the fans have been spoilt with the early season success, need to stick behind the boys in this rough patch.

The only real move we’ve got from the bench ( if everyone from Thursday is fit ) is taking GLC off , moving deki to 10 and richi wide left and Johnson right . So limited in formation changes
