Amy reason why the Lerma elbow to the back of Madders head wasn’t looked at for red card offense? That was an intentional blow that could have caused a lot of damage. He is a nasty player that the premier league refs let get away with filth.

Club should have delayed kick off,

Northumberland Park station was closed and trains to white hart lane was cancelled last minute leaving a lot of fans stranded at seven sister too late

I have seen matches delayed for less tbh

I think we need a player like Ginola or van der Vaart. A creative spark. We have Maddison but not really many other players who create. Especially in the forward positions. We have runners and pressers and hard workers but not much creativity or skill or guile.

We definitely need some magic in midfield/up front. Don't believe Eze is that player but we need to find someone to help brake down these 11 men defences.

Werner has the pace but isn't a dribbler and Kulusevski is a dribbler but doesn't have the pace. The closest we have is Soloman. We need someone to carry the ball and pull players around a bit. I always liked Moura for that, just brings a bit of chaos against tight defences.

Other than running at speed onto passes behind opposition defences not sure Werner has any particular outstanding skills. His passing, crossing, and shooting is a very mixed bag.

Werner doesn’t need to dribble it. We need to play the through ball for him to run onto. It’s so obvious and no one will play it. The one time we did today, he ended up through on goal (and fluffed it).

This ^^^^^^

I turned it on just before the second goal. The commentary made the first sound like a complete howler and palace were unlucky to be behind. Yeah it was really poor defending but only through hard work from Johnson. He earned that goal, it wasn't given to us.

It was reported on the club website earlier in the week that Northumberland Pk Stn would be closed on Saturday so that was known in advance, last minute train cancellations are a problem that can't be anticipated by anyone.

Weirdly I did the same. The way they were going on about it constantly I was expecting a real howler. Their explanation didn't do justice to BJ hard work.

It was a mistake but not the gift the commentators were claiming.

Really don't think people appreciate how tough it is against low block teams or teams playing for a counter.

It's very very rare for a team and coach to blitz it in the first season.

Klopp was constantly caught out by these teams.

Thats cause you have very little space and time, which means the interplay has to be super super sharp and players need it to all come second nature.

That isn't going to happen in the first 18 months or so. Especially in the PL.

You often see our players make a pass behind the target or fail to look in the right direction or be a split second too late.

All these little details make a big difference and they normally take time cause players need to get on the same wavelength.

But they need time and games for that.

Earlier in the season we had more space, especially through the centre. So out players could see passing lanes easier.
Teams are blocking them so players lose that instinct.

Another factor is that all of Bissouma, Bentancur and Maddison have lost their flow, again time will cure that.

Just have patience
I agree. We sprinkle some more quality over the summer and I’m very excited. People are disappointed we’re not playing like the first ten games but we were an unknown at that stage. Ange simply isn’t going to play in a different way (albeit he does change personnel to close out games as per usual Hoj substitution) - so that might be a dealbreaker for some.

I personally love it. These 10 minute blitzes are glorious and if you’re a believer in playing the Tottenham Way then this is as close to it as Peak Poch.

Up The Spurs!

If Richie had been playing, would Sonny have scored his goal?
Or would he have been out wider and Richie competing for the ball in the middle?

I only ask because Sonny’s breaks from midfield are such a potent weapon, that can’t be utilised when he’s out on the wing.
When he’s flat-out running at defenders and keepers he just breezes past them and is deadly with his finish.
The more space he’s offered up, the more he flummoxes defences.

I just noticed on this clip- no immediately one ran to Timo after he scored- strange

Not that strange, they just went back to kick off as we needed to get another goal. If it was the second goal then they absolutely would have gone over to him.

It was the leveller, so the other players wanted to get on with it. Timo, though, finally scored and can't blame him for wanting to celebrate it properly.

I just can't believe they're not playing him in. Its his instinctive game to be on the shoulder of the full back. Udogie, Maddison, no one seems to be willing to play the through ball or even the ball over the top. So frustrating.

It has to be deliberate and they’re on instructions but I just don’t get it.

We were great running the ball to the byline and cutting it back into the box. We have a winger with pace to burn but he only ever gets the ball with his back to goal.
