Welcome to the Spurs Vs Sporting CP Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

I dare the players to mess this one up
I know the last two results and to some extent the performances have been disappointing but for me, this next game is all about the result, how we get the win doesn't matter. We simply need to get the win and I don't care if it's an underwhelming 1-0 or 2-1 win. Yes it would be great to win in style with an exciting fast paced brand of slick and decisive football with crisp and accurate passing without unnecessary and self inflicted defensive errors, that would be a bonus, but what's far more important tomorrow is the result.

We know we're on the ropes at the moment, but we're missing key players through injury, and time and patience to get in new signings where we all know we need to improve.

We need to stick with the long term plan to get over this bump in the road.

We need to drag ourselves over the qualification line by grinding out a win tomorrow by any means and we need to gather as many points as we can before the WC break to still stay in touch and in the mix for top 4 whilst the chips are down.

No way do I want us going into that Marseille game away with qualification on the line.

COYS ! We as fans are needed more than ever this season to back the team to the hilt and get them over the line while they're down at the moment...

If anyone fancies watching Spurs play tomorrow night, there are many tickets available on ticket exchange. Prices range from £60 to £72 which are believed to be face value prices. I know the quality of football does not justify these prices but they are available if money is not an issue for you.

The prices have been a resounding failure. All 3 games havent sold out at all.

Think the club will have to revert back to package deals like before. All 3 games for £150 would even do it.

Dier & Bentancur in massive need of a rest now.

I'd rest Bentancur against Bournemouth; if he gets booked in that one, he misses Liverpool.

But win this one, and I believe we qualify so can then take it easy against Marseille (within reason, we'd still be trying to qualify in first).

So in summation... no idea. Just win.

Don't think yellows carry over between domestic competitions anymore.

Not something I would say, but I dread watching our games now. And somemore it's a CL game I've been craving for. Really hope it can be a good game to ease some poor results recently. ?

Hope the atmosphere is good and pushes us on. Ordinarily the football dictates the atmosphere but if its loud from the start it should reflect on the pitch.

Hope Hugo gets a good reception too. Bloke needs the boost.

Win and we're through, that's all that matters. I think if Frankfurt beat Marseille tomorrow and we win, we'll top the group guaranteed, due to having a better head to head over Frankfurt. I think that's now it works anyway.

Anyone know their injury / suspension situation? Also wasn’t their manager being tipped for a premier league job somewhere?

Sporting head to London with manager Ruben Amorim still at the helm following interest from Aston Villa.

He and his squad will make the trip to England without the injured Daniel Braganca and Neto, while Pedro Goncalves and Ricardo Esgaio are serving suspensions following red cards last time out against Marseille.

That’s right. I think we are almost there if Frankfurt and Marseille draw as well, if we win by two goals. If so we will have a better goal difference then Marseille and a 2-0 win in the head 2 head meaning (I think!) that they would have to win by a three goal margin to surpass us.
