I know Davies needs a run of minutes to get in form, but I'd be pretty tempted to just rotate Rose and KWP right now - unless KWP training is rubbish.

look at the bright side - Winks was pinging it around pretty well in the second half and released Dembele with a lovely ball for our second.
Winks was actually allowed to play centre midfield in the second half and it made a big difference in his performance.

Need a leftie on that side though. KWP and another player who cuts in playing in front of him would make us too narrow.

I know he was partially at fault for the second goal by loosing possession on the half way line. But aside from that I thought Lamela was excellent again once we brought on a forward. Lovely reverse pass for Deles pen and a excellent goal. If he continues to do this he could be big for us.

Since Watford have very little to aim for this season other than cups, why did they think defending all 11 behind the ball for 45 minutes was a winning strategy? Pathetic really
What shit are you talking? They're fourth in the table! They can at least have a crack at a half decent league run from that standing. Maybe get Europa League football. They've had a great start to the season.

I agree. Poch had both he and Sissoko holding behind the fullbacks much of the first half - Winks on the left and Sissoko on the right. No point in putting Davies forward right now as poor as his form is.

Davies had a summer off and has come back playing like he's got lead in his boots.

Glad Rose has clicked into some form.

They were great penalties too.

YUK! TFFT.
Poor decision to start with no recognised front man (Son or Llorente), then to watch 60 minutes with them gobbling up any crosses into their box, and being reluctant to cross with that realisation. Also being stiffled in the middle when in their half, then coming out 2nd half and them dominating while we wait till 60+ minutes to make changes. Bad day at the office Poch.

I’ve never even known of Success to start for Watford (even though he wears their number 10 shirt OCD alert! :cautious:), he’s been there donkeys but always seems to be being loaned somewhere.

First half tidy but toothless, second half was very good apart from the final third.

We were moving the ball around better with Wanyama and Winks.

Shame about Aurier's injury, he was just starting to show some form.

Good win, performance is irrelevant considering all the changes. Getting through to next round is all that matters in a cup we should be aiming to win.

Football isn’t just about getting knocked out of the CL and then striving to get top 4 so you can get knocked out of the CL again a year later.
