What about John Hendrie? Two goals in our last win at Highbury?

Danny Hill, local boy who was a real talent?

Ally Dick?

That Northern Irish winger who went to play in Scotland?

What about Lee Barnard?

Last seen at Southend.

And Darren Caskey? last seen plying his trade for Halesowen Town in the Southern League.

both these 2 grew up near me in basildon. I played footy with Darrens brother and he bought Justin Edinburgh, Dean Austin and I think it was Andy Turner to a presentation.

I argued about the Santini appointment with Lee Barnard at a party without knowing who he was. It did seem strange that he kept saying it would be harder for us younger players, I thought he'd seen me play and was bigging me up! lol

 brilliant stuff Ryan mate! Barnard I thought looked good on his couple of appearances for us.

And Andy Turner, christ yeah! left winger (I think?)

I've seen a bit of Darren Caskey for Halesowen the past couple of years, he's got a bit of a Billy Big Balls reputation, he takes all the corners, free kicks, penalties (throw-ins, goal kicks, kick offs, washes the kit, drives the bus to games, etc etc) - still a decent player though.

Danny Hill is one who should have made it :-(

Mark Gower could have done better than he did had we given him a chance, so much ability.

We had Chris Suttons younger brother John with us as a yoof, he was meant to be pretty good but we never gave him a chance. He's mid 20's now and doing fairly well in Scotland.

I saw Turner make his debut. Anyone remember Scott Houghton and Jeff Minton?

Turner was brilliant from what I remember. Scott Houghton had that funky shaved back and sides barnet and was a bit on the heavy side. Mintons name rings a bell but never saw him play

I remember in Champ Andy Turner (MLC) was a pretty handy youngster as was Scott Houghton (AMRC)...

These are the three players I was going to mention

I remember seeing Minton on his debut against Everton scoring (maybe twice) as we turned a three nil half time lead into a 3-3 thanks to Beardsly

Houghton was a short stumpy gingerish guy I remember him scoring a great goal than fading into nothing

Turner seemed to be a great player, I think he was the youngest goal scorer in the PL at one point. I remember seeing him score the 3 in a floodlight win over Man City and also he scored the winner in a dramatic win over Everton one time.

Gosh I was a young school kid when all this was going on
