Totally - this is a positive step.

High quality players, who will not only hopefully impart some knowledge and experience, but (frankly) young players will probably react well to such high profile recent ex-players

Smart move this

As long as JD isn't teaching them about the offside law!

So is last season U18 coach getting the bullet. Sorry can’t even remember his name.

Stuart Lewis. I don't think he's off. I mean, we haven't been very good in match situations since he took over but then again we haven't been very impressive 'as a team' since the days of Berchiche, Obika and Danny Rose.

How does someone like Yaya Toure even associate with Spurs? Either way him and JD are awesome names, I’m unconvinced they’re elite coaches but surely just working with the young lads and sharing all their experience will help, both had some of the best shooting technique in the history of the Premier League. In fact I think Toure was the most perfectly well rounded midfielder in the PL at his best.

Thank you for sharing! I'm stateside so I'm really looking forward to catching all games on Spursplay. Does anyone know is the UEFA youth league will also be shown on Spursplay?

It’s a great question considering his brother was an invincible at Arsenal. In short we have much better facilities than them and he lives in Hampstead. Players i’ve spoken to love working with him and know him as a legend of their time.

Yes and no. Defoe was famous for his low back lift, a la Ian Wright, which meant he took less time control the ball and place the shot than the average striker. He was also famous for shooting with power rather than placing his shots which - if the shot was on target - gave the keeper less chance of reacting to it. I'm not saying that's all JD has to teach but he was far from an orthodox striker. I was never a fan of Defoe, myself. I felt he was very limited.

If Defoe can impart on the academy players the same level of professionalism and dedication to staying fit and looking after their bodies, same as he did (732 career appearances only missed 93 games due to injury), then they'll be a in a great position to have really solid careers.

Would be knackered these days with VAR. offside too often.
For someone who scored 100plus goals there were long periods when he wasn’t first choice.
Crouch and VDV ....Keane and Berbatov.

My money is on Harvey White being the next one to head out on loan, as Swansea have been showing some interest. Have any clubs been linked to Devine?
