This suggests that the new stadium is a revamped WHL or at the very least still in the borough of Harringay.

This means they're looking to stay in haringey as their first option.

No, it only suggests that that's one of the options. It might be unromantic to want to move to a proper stadium in a place that was designed to handle 60-100,000 people moving in and out but that would be best for fans and that's what I want.

As a long-time Tottenham resident I can confirm that Haringey council is as hopeless as any (although some of the individual councillors are good people). But whilst Sugar was in charge his attitude didn't make him or the club overly popular with the locals and the relationship with the council was pretty frosty, to say the least. But I think the club has really been making a big effort in recent years to be a major force for improvement in Tottenham.

As for moving away whilst the new stadium is being constructed, assuming the club is seeking to build on the land north of Paxton (which will mean buying up the Winfield Trading Estate) there is ample room there to build a brand-new stadium whilst the existing one remains in use. This seems the sensible thing to do.

totally agree with you. id love a new stadium to be built very near to WHL. while it is being built carry on playing at WHL, then when the new stadium is finished play in the new one.

But have a special memorial game for WHL. i would love that!

I don't see why that should be the case as the capacity was upwards of 60,000 before seating came in & crushes never happened on the street (SS57, perhaps you could confirm?)

that was in the days of the fans all living within walking distance of the stadium...

cause in the time it takes to walk to seven sisters you can get to holloway road, gillespie road or finsbury park. (although admittedly i dont think holloway road really counts.)

As long as we stay where we are I'm happy, so a new stadium next door or a revamp is all good to me, not that bothered if we ground share either as it'll be for a short while only before going back home.

I would prefer if the new stadium could be built where I have shaded above. I think that this is the most viable option due to the Victoria Line being very close by.

Does anyone know if this land is protected s it is in close proximity of the reservoirs?

You're living in dreamland. It's an SSSI with several rare and one unique plant species, and, you know, some of us plebs who actually live in Tottenham do like to have a green space to walk and cycle, go fishing, watch the birdies, walk the dogs, that sort of stuff. Sorry about that.

Also, it's near the Victoria Line depot, not near a Victoria Line station, unless you count the Hale. There are no buses. There are no pubs, kebab shops, cafes, etc.

It was Spurs' first home, mind you.

is there anyway we would build it on top of the reservoir, we would then have the worlds 1st floating stadium. things could all go swimmingly well or sink like a stone.

The idea of a stadium on stilts over one of the reservoirs was trotted out a year or two ago. Some people actually believed it.

What i would plan for is to firstly build a new stand without any disruption to the stadium (light green box)
then in the second part of construction i would build the second stand(light blue box) with only minimal disruption to the stadiums west stand during the summer break,
then unfortunately we would probably have to relocate for the next season as we turn the pitch 90 degrees and build the following two stands,
wonder if we could use Wembley for ten to fifteen games and somewhere else for the other remaining home games?
well it's what i would do anyway.
