Hi Mark - don't see that team being even close to our starting line up come August

The only ones I'd agree with are hutton woody modric and keane - and I'm not even sure about Keane - might be on the bench if Berbs stays

Not Bale or King? I think there pretty nailed on if fit.

Others are just speculative, but aim of thread was to state its a possibility.

you said it Mark :) - if fit - if I had to bet now I'd bet that King won't play the opening game and Bale will - but I'm not convinced by any means about either of them being fit and starting - so many questions about both of them to me

By all means speculate away :) but I really think some people put these fantasy teams out for the start of season and secretly believe they will happen or be very close - of course most/all are way out

look back to last season - when Stalteri Gardner Lee amongst others (from memory) trotted out while Bent didn't

go back then to the SC predicted starting XIs over May June and July- I bet most weren't even close - and probably loads had King and Bale in the team and neither featured, probably plenty had Dawson too - not to mention a whole stack of fancy foreign names that never materialised

I was thinking exactly the same whilst reading this thread. Although I think Bale is still very young and was just unlucky last year. King is the major worry.

Klinsmann was cut-price

correct cheeseman :) - sometimes you do get a bargain - though I believe sir Alan thought he overpaid for Jurgen's shirt by the end of it :)

sometimes though cut-price is for a reason - anyway I don't think ETo'o will be cut-price, more very high priced, so I don't want him

of course if JR & Levy thinks he's worthwhile I'll back them 100%

yep Gambler :) King is the major worry -

I do worry a bit about Bale too - I'm no medic but he had three injuries in the short while he played for us - and there's a slight worry getting back to his best may be not as straightforward as many think - however as I say I'm no medic - but I've seen careers blighted by injury before and I'm just praying Bale's won't be of them

I must stress I'm one of Nature's worriers, especially re spurs - but sometimes caution is wiser than optimism (mostly not though :)

Think Eto would be a waste of money , need to sort our m/f, if Berbatov goes we will have some of the funds and kitty to have a team like this.If Berbs stays play him in Bents place
Hart/Kirkland

Hutton Woodgate King/Kaboul Bale

Arshavin Veloso Diego/Granero Marin

Modric

Bent

Hi Lenny - I think that team's a lot more realistic than most - but I'll take that v cash bet :)

tell you what - normally I don't do these teams - but just for fun I'll do one and see who's closest - though I'll be glad if I get 6 right :)

kameni - (BTW if it's robbo I might cry and watch that game in complete despair and disbelief)

hutton woody dawson gilberto

lennon jenas zokora modric

bent keane

I don't for a moment actually realistically believe it'll be kameni but as I haven't a clue as to who we will sign I stuck him in - I just can't believe it'll be robbo

the others I'm just playing a percentage game with players currently fit and possible starters - almost for sure 2 or 3 at least will be wrong - but as I say if I get 6 i'm happy

:up:DC.

could someone out there run some sort of book re starting line up for first game of next season?

e.g. 11 correct players pays 50-1
10 pays 40-1
9 = 33-1
etc
etc

just an idea but dont know how to accuratly work out the odds properly
might be a laugh! what do you all think?

Poulsen is a grade A ****. I don't want him anywhere near a Spurs shirt after seeing him stamp on Jenas' head last year - he could have killed him for fucks sake.

ahh, come on. it wouldnt be so bad if he was stamping on the likes of terry, lampard and fabregas. ;)

Indeed, indeed. And love the youtube vid of Poulsen and Gattuso arguing.. he looks so calm! A hard playing but yet calm player is the best. He won't get himself any unnecessary bookings getting all upset.

Not quite, dude.

Denmark are playing Sweden. Sweden race into a 3-0 lead, but Denmark claw it back to 3-3. Then, in the last minute, Poulsen decided to punch Rosenberg in the stomach (in the area), with the ref giving a penalty. If I remember correctly, a Danish fan then came onto the pitch (trying to attack the ref, I think), the game was abandoned, and Sweden were awarded a 3-0 win.

A breakthrough! Levy you clever sausage!

Poulsen wanted to go to Barcelona to be with his lover. If we manage to sign his lover, he'll, obviously, want to join us :-D What a guy!

I don't know about any positive links to Poulsen or Arshavin but I would LOVE Eto'o and I DO believe it is in us!!

Perfect music too!

Oh and, completely forgot about the punch in the stomach.. and I'm supposed to be Swedish...

But look at this one

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYpYjQAU7yA

And you'll almost see the slap Ibra gives him in the faces before!

But no excuses.. still think he would fit into our midfield perfectly.. or his type, as DC boy so fervently believes we won't sign any Seville players... and we might not..
