They really don't look anything alike.

That time you spent on Google Images, searching for a picture of [Cartman], could have been spent learning an instrument or a new language - Something beneficial to society - rather than this poor excuse for a lookalikes joke.

Thanks for ruining my life.

A bit self-destructive, aren't we...

One of the best players of our poor excuse for a 'team' so far this season.

when malbranque moves inside to the CM he looks fantastic, not so convincing on the wing. His work rate is fantastic though and I think he does warrant a place on the left

Steed is an excellent player, but doesn't have a position. In the last couple of years we seem to have signed a fair few players who certainly have some very decent attributes, but aren't particuarly suited to 442 Prem football. Steed is along with Berbs and the Hudd, one of our most technically players, but is he good enough to play out wide, or does he have the physical capabilites to get up and down the pitch in a CM of a 442? I'd say no way. To me Steed is a number 10, and should be played like Elano, Riquelme or Kaka in a 451. Whilst he is tenacious and will get stuck in, there is no getting around the fact he's a little squat man and is never gooing to be able to cover the ground effectively enough in a 2 CM. So, in short, I think he is one of our best players, but not suited to 442 football, making him a bit of a strange signing. Having said that, i think he's been a credit to the club this season and one of our best performers, which in itself is worrying. Over the last 2 years we seem to be buying an awful lot of players who have talent is certain areas, but aren't suitable for the type of football we play. Kaboul has obvious great talent, but people are already suggesting he is more suited to a DM role than a CB role. Zokora has recently shown what a different player he can be when not playing in a 2 man CM. Was Ghakly really a wide player? No, but i wouldn't trust him in the middle either. Chimbonda is great going forward, but is he really a defender. The same can be said of BAE. It's a worrying trend. We keep buying players without portfolio. I think it would be nice if we bought a CB to play CB, a DM to play DM and a LW to play on the LW.

I pretty much agree with most of that. (weird)

I have never been a fan of 451 but I just don't understand why Jol, away from home at least, didn't try it. We had the perfect players to do it.

Do you not think that the versatility of those players was actually part of their appeal. Rightly or wrongly ?

cheers to that! spot on, couldn't have said it better. i'm sure ramos is aware of this and will progressively change this situation. this is the main reason why jol had to leave, he was already too much into it, too blind, as when you play FM and start losing stupid matches during the 2014-15 season and you just start making fast selections and don't check your squad thoroughly.

I was pissed to hear Benoit Assou-Ekotto will be out for the rest of the season. I was hoping to see him work under Ramos at Left Back and Bale replacing Malbranque on the left side of midfield.

Malbranque as mentioned above does not have a defined role in the team. IMO he does not produce enough end product in games IE supplying enough crosses or making enough assist.

In his defence, Malbranque has excellent work rate and covers a lot of ground along with Jenas and without Ghaly who I believes a better player or Bale my first choice playing on the left side of midfield, Malbranque's a good squad player.

I don't like him. You have to give him credit though for playing well this season. But I do believe he should be out of the starting 11, once we have a full squad and/or/if we buy a new left winger.

Well since JR has been playing him predominantly on the left and Lennon on the right, both have prospered. I never understood why Jol played Steed so often on the right and Lennon on the left - it used to drive me mad

I absolutely loved it when Steed smashed home that equaliser on Thursday - the wife was coming home from an evening out and she said she could hear me halfway down the street - i must have been dancing round the living room for a good three minutes which for a middle aged unfit git like me ain't bad ;-)

No way! There are three players that, for me, have performed consistently well this season: Bale, Keane and Malbranque.
 The lad is really an unsung hero. To me he has been the creative player we have had, loved to see him play in his real position !
