Romero, de Vrij, Dier, Davies, Tanganga and a left footed alternative would be quite a thing to have, but for now I think there are three positions that are more urgent to upgrade.

- CM alternative
- Rotation/ Back up striker

I'd love love love Schlotterbeck as the LCB. Brilliant on the ball, defensively secure, left footed, young. Got everything we'd need.

De Vrij is an excellent player so couldn't say no but given how much Conte seems to love Dier I'd be surprised if 150k+ of a wage budget went on him.

I don't know how Alasdair in his latest Q&A thought De Vrij can play as LCB when he's right footed and according to smarterscout played ~200 mins as LCB in league+europe since 16/17.

Guesswork probably due to us being linked and that's the spot we want to upgrade.

German football has a lot of brilliant things about it, the 51% rule being one of them.

But how depressing would it be knowing nobody else will win really but Bayern, and they can sign anyone they from your club at any time. What’s the point?

On the main point though, don’t think De Vrij is what we need as he plays central. Great player, but Dier is proving he can do that role very well until the summer when we can get rotation

I don't want to be a downer but I'm getting to the point where I just won't believe we bring anyone in until the jersey is being raised in that photo. He would be superb for us and quite literally what we need in the back. A beast in the air and I believe left footed, this would allow Davies to play behind in cup games which he is perfectly suited for. A back 3 of Romero/Dier(De Vrij)/ De Vrij (davies) I put De vrij as possibly our center CB and if he is Davies can stay in that LCB.

Certainly wouldn’t play him as either of the lateral CBs in the 3. He is excellent as the centre man.

There is no way Inter sell him though. He is one of their most key players leading their title charge.
