Freund doesn't seem to be as animated as he was last season. Also, I have notice and maybe this is just me, that he no longer sits next to AVB and shares his thoughts. Is he still AVB assistant? or has that role/responsibility been handed to someone else.

He's no longer as animated because there have been less exciting moments. I wouldn't read into where he sits on the bench, his title is still Assistant Head Coach but it doesn't necessarily mean he's the only one that AVB listens to.

The 1980's made him hand his skin tight tracky bottoms back and he's too embarrassed to leap about in his modern, flappy ones. He is sad.

Hopefully he's still very animated behind the scenes.

I think a lot of us were annoyed with the lack of passion shown in such an important game as west ham, hopefully Freund uses his past EPL experience and all round enthusiasm to get the players pumped for big games.

He's saving himself for the ultimate celebration. It's difficult enough to surpass all the previous ones!

Wasn't he linked to some big job in Germany? Perhaps we kept him to his contract?

AVB: "Steff, would you sit two rows back please cos every time we score I fucking shit myself when you jump up"

SF: "Sure boss but I can still reach the pitch from there"

AVB: "sigh, just fuck off somewhere I can't see you and get the kit man to order some adult sized pampers for when I extrapolate one into my drawers"

There has been a slight change in the mood, judging from some of the body language of AVB group in the past month or so, looking from the outside as we all do. Mind last saturday did not help.

Conspiracy theories to one side - this is still just a job to these people and there are so many thing that could cause the perceived or otherwise change in one or more of the coaching team. I had some spectacular slanging matches with many "colleagues" ;) :dummy: back in the day.

1) Medication
2) Body odour.

Funny thing is that I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day.

The players should already be pumped for big games especially after missing out on top four last season.

snoreball wears us all down eventually.

Its hard to get animated when watching the 14th sideways pass in succession.

I loved Freund on the touchline because he seemed genuine, his love for the club, rapture when we scored, support for players when taken off. It's all gone, surely he's been leaned on.
