crouch heskey owen have all been mentioned before and are all pretty useful, but why don't we go for mido and zaki? both are strong, talented forwards..

could they prove as successful a combo as our croatian one?

and if ghaly stayed too that would be great:)

how many times are we gonna sign mido ?
that would be 3rd time lucky (or unlucky) if we do
as soon as he puts a spurs shirt on he heads off to the nearest mcdonalds and orders the whole menu !!!

Rofl - roll on floor laughing

Might need a dose of the rofl copter for Mido. Zaki could be a good shout.

mido's the target man we need + a bit of skill and zaki is a bit of everything with a big dose of poacher.

its a good shout especially as we would only have to pay the same fee to get him back i.e 6 million and zaki i think has a clause to be sold for a reasonable price. i think with zaki around he would help get the best from mido and maybe he would stay off the burgers

COME ONNNNN GET (them) INNNNN

On a serious note....

Zaki I dont think would be a bad purchase, he looks like a very good player who is willing to put himself about for the team, do all the un-noticed things...but chips in with his fair share of goals as well. He's the bulkier, less skillfull but more commited/hard working Berbatov.

Zaki is a flash in the pan. Mido is better but I wouldn't take either now.

despite that fact i don't need to discuss this as we don't need target man, but he is also suffered a lot of injuries since his permanent transfer with us.

Zaki is useful player but he is just striker as the same as Bent & Campbell.

We need a striker who can link play, pavlychenko can hold the ball up, but with the lack of quality of ball he gets and the lack of support around him makes him look like he can't hold the ball up.

I am hoping that when Gio recovers from his hangover and gets fit he may fit into the team really well linking with the sole striker. So with Gio linking up with Lennon/Modric, these 3 buzzing behind Pav or Bent could work really well.

As for Mido, when does a player who goes back to club ever work out.
And zaki apart from scoring a few goals at first, is he really that good? I think its just a fashionable name arouind at the moment and needs more time to be assessed.

Aye, we need a creative forward who will not only score goals, but help supply them. Thats what we are missing dearly at the moment, in my opinion Bent, Pav and Campbell are all out and out strikers to some extent who will poach goals and be waiting in the 6 yard box for a tap in.

We need someone who will fall a little deeper, link the play between midfield and attack and help supply such oppurtunities for their strike partners. Arshavin is what we need.

Mido? Seriously?

Zaki's goals have dried up under Blackburn's failings. Yeah he is in a struggling side, but Bent used to score plenty for Charlton when they were having trouble.

I think we need a striker who can play out wide. We already have 2 out and out strikers in Bent and Pavyluchenko. That should be enough, but we just need to compliment those 2. Both are better suited as the lone striker, and we have Frazier Campbell until the summer. If Giovani had more experience then i'd say we would be well covered. But i think we need someone who's been around a bit longer, who has the ability to win games. Neither Zaki (hasn't proven himself long enough) or Mido (good but not great player.)

Theres several good quality players who can play wide left, but also play off the front man. Arshavin, Di Maria, Duda, Affelay or Ben Arfa. Thats the sort of quality i think we need to aim for.

If you believe todays papers Harry is desperate to get rid of Pavlyuchenko.

He was also quoted as saying something along the lines of 'When I first came he was playing t'riffic, but I thought he wasn't working hard enough or running about enough so now he is out of the team' about Bent.

Maybe Harry doesn't particularly rate our strikers. The problem is strikers are a little thin on the ground. It isn't going to be easy to find a striker in January who can even do a decent job for us, let alone be an upgrade on what we have.

Seriously, who is there?
