We are much higher up the food chain these days and he isn’t a seasoned superstar yet.

Offering big money we may be able to get him.
Maybe but he’s prime to go to PSG if mbappe leaves.
would you even consider us a step up from Milan who are about to win the league?

Dude, we can’t mount a serious league campaign and play CL playing Kane and Son in every game. Just like Liverpool play Jota or Diaz, or City play Sterling or Jesus, we need another quality attacker so different combinations can play and rotate.”

I never said we don't need another 'quality attacker'. Liverpool and Man City can easily rotate their front players as they're interchangeable. My point isn't that we don't need another attacker, it's that Martinez is not adaptable enough to play more than one position, limiting his chances of playing as Conte isn't known for rotating as readily as Pep and Klopp.

I would be much more keen on players like Nkunku or De Ketelaere. As they are adaptable enough to play in any of the front 3 positions.

Kostic having a decent game v Rangers tonight. That left foot of his has been wreaking havoc. One run in particular in the first half showcased some good pace which surprised me.

Definitely an option well worth considering this summer.

Edit: assisted Frankfurt's goal I should add with a wicked ball in from the left byline.

Got to say this is the 4th time I’ve watched Kostic and I’m not overly impressed, I see his qualities, great ball delivery but he’s not athletic and quick at all.

Im impressed by Kamada from Frankfurt and Bassey from Rangers tonight, albeit I know very little of Bassey.

I’m hoping the 4 games I’ve seen are a very small sample size of Kostic.

Personally not been impressed again.

Although his delivery is very very good undoubtedly.

Put me in the Leao camp, he’s becoming an amazing player and if we make the CL he’s exactly the kind of player we should go for to make a statement.

He could cover left, central or right and would bring us genuine top class quality with the potential to improve and eventually take over from Son. He would give us the pace and movement we so badly miss when Son doesn’t play.

Would be well worth spending big money on him or Nkunku.
I’m a huge fan of his, as I have said several times previously, but I don’t see it. AC are being strongly courted by a few different groups for a big money takeover that will certainly put them in a financial position of power. I don’t know all the details as I hate AC but from everything I’ve read things seem to be moving fast. Because of this I don’t see any of their major assets being available for anything reasonable any time soon. Obviously if a team like PSG come in and overpay then yes, but that’s not a situation we find ourselves in. Milan aren’t in the same situation as Inter who need to sell again this summer or they will be fucked.

Would be a fantastic signing but, like Nkunku, not one for us with our current needs.

From what I’ve seen tonight I wouldn’t bother with anyone……for a final, very poor quality. And I realise you can’t judge anyone on a one off but as far as I can see no one has stepped up…

To be fair imagine watching our CL final. Some of the best players in the world on display, from both sides and you'd never have known.

Conte doesn't rotate.

I'm behind signing another striker but if we pay that much it's better to get someone more versatile - who can maybe operate as a wing forward and striker. That way they get more opportunities to play - they could even play with Kane and Son on occasion. Martinez is a pure striker so if Kane and Son are fit he isn't going to get a look in.

Happy to be proven wrong if he signs but personally I don't think he's even a target now Kane is staying.
It's not true though. Alexis Sanchez started ahead of either Martinez or Lukaku 1/3 of the games he was available and it is with a big drop off in quality and in a less physically demanding league. On top of that, 1 striker was subbed almost every game, so if we did sign Martinez, whoever didn't start between him, Son and Kane would still get game time off the bench.

Also, pretty much every WB only played around 50% of the games (and were regularly subbed) other than Hakimi but even he only started 75% of the games he was available (and subbed off in 1/3 of the games he started) and he was pretty much the best WB in the world for Conte's system.

Barella and Brovovic have both played more mins this season than either under Conte.

You have to remember that he has wanted to leave for 18 months though too. His performances have dropped off as a result. Now that suggests to me either a lack of professionalism, someone hard to motivate or someone that might need an arm round the shoulder. The fact Arsenal want him is also a bit of a worry, I'm not convinced by their scouting.
Don't think that is fair to say tbh, Eriksen's performances dropped massively when he had made his mind up to leave and he certainly doesn't lack professionalism.

I’ve already mentioned it but people are forgetting this is the scouting thread for discussing different players ability and getting decent discussion on whether the majority feel each individual player would improve us. No ones looking at Bissouma and thinking “Yeah I’d love us to sign a criminal!” it’s been done to death already
Do you think scouting a player simply involves their on field performances?
