typical spurs fan mentality - keeps worrying about the playing minutes when we are linked to quality players but slamming the club for being unambitious when we fail to do so
I have no issues upgrading on Davies and we do need back up there. However, given Davies is already a 7/10 player and super consistent, I just wonder whether we get more bang for our buck - given limited funds - from spending bigger on WBs, CM, or AM.

Obviously if 1 or 2 of the positions needed are free transfers (eg Eriksen, Dybala, etc) or the equivalent players are not available (I doubt we get Hakimi for example) that then frees up more funds to allocate elsewhere such as to a a mega LCB option, but I still feel we need bigger upgrades elsewhere.

I look at Romero and he has been huge for us and maybe a Bastoni-type would be too. But Sanchez to Romero is a far bigger upgrade vs Davies to Bastoni, IMO.

Priorities have to be a quality CB, RWB & LWB.

I’d also like to see a creative midfielder and a second striker added.

If we manage all of that (unlikely) then I’d fancy us to challenge.

I would agree if someone like Hakimi was available on the market for a similar price as WB is obviously our weakest area. As things stand there aren't really any attainable top class wing backs to splash out on, though.

I guess we could spend big on a forward or a CM instead, but I think a really top tier LCB could have an even bigger impact on our success than those positions.

I really hope we get Johnstone over Forster. He's had a bit of a purple patch in the Saints goal but he can let in some really soft goals at times.

Assuming Forster is Hugo replacement and Johnstone for Gollini … or the other way round
Not at all.
id imagine this press release has come out to hurry up the Johnstone camp into signing by letting them know we could move on to another viable option.
we hold all the aces in this particular transfer.

Only thing Forster is good at is time wasting! Really don't see the need for an older keeper as Hugo's backup, surely it has to be someone like SJ who'll be his replacement in a couple of seasons time.

Or maybe Johnstone has decided on United?

But why would Johnstone go there to sit behind De Gea? would be so weird
