£150m + CL money + player sales...could be £250m+ in the pot to spend.

I wonder if now is the time to think about Kane's long-term replacement?

Don't get me wrong, we sign Kane up to another 4 years, but we also bring in a 'wonder-kid' for the future.

Or even a proven 23 or 24 year-old.

Anyone out there that fits the bill and how much would they cost?

Even if we dropped £50m to £60m on them, we'd still have enough to do the rest of the rebuild, especially taking into account free-transfers.

Yeah, we were definitely looking to bring Vlahovic in as a Kane replacement (for the long-term or if Kane left last summer).

I suppose the standout players currently are Christopher Nkunku and Lautaro Martínez, who are both 24 years old (both turning 25 in the next 6 months) and who have scored plenty of goals in their respective leagues.

As for younger 'wonderkid' players, 18 years old to 23 years old, I haven't got a clue.

EDIT: The post above mentions Jonathan David...I guess he could be in this category.
By all accounts, we already have this in Dane Scarlett

Bellotti would make sense if we're waiting to see how Scarlett or Parrott pan out. I'd take him anyway on a Bosman (I think). He'd give us a load of bite up front and more versatility.

GK, RWB, LCB, LWB, CM, AM/WF, WF/CF.
7 players is feasible given the amount of possible outgoings too. Potentially GK, RWB, LWB, 2 forwards could be direct replacements for Gollini, Emerson/Doherty, Reguillon, Moura & Bergwijn, that’s not taking into account the CM departures.
Biggest problem is it’s a huge ask to integrate that many players at once, but you’d assume that’s behind Conte’s request that the main core is together for the Korea tour, so he has as much time as possible to bed in his tactical demands.
He did say on joining that he’d never taken a job without a preseason, so you almost understand the patchy periods this year whilst he was trying to adapt the team inbetween games.

There are a number of Bosmans (or those on short contracts) we could/should consider to help bolster the squad depth. We shiidmt be so quick to dismiss them as not game changers, perhaps they not going to improve the 1st 11 directly, but they would close up the dropoff when we some of the main players are not available or need a rest. Shopping partially in this market would leave a bigger portion of the budget for those that would actually would come in as first choice.
Eg Winks, Lo Celso, Ndombele out, Grillitsch, Eriksen in. Moura, Bergwijn out, Bellotti, Nketiah (yeah I went there) in.
Plough the funds into CB and WB.

£150m plus sales equals £300m+ for me.

Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sanchez, Emerson, Reguilon, Winks, Moura, Bergwijn - easily bring in £150m

the highlighted 3, i think we struggle to shift. especially Ndombele, he cant even get in the lyon team & only played 11 games for them i think since january, and got 2 assists. something tells me he will be loaned again. Winks imo 10m max, same with lucas.

There would definitely be PL sides who would be happy to sign Lucas.

Just depends if he wants to leave for them or not.

Bastoni is absolutely the player we should sign this summer. As in go all out now. Get it done.
The budget is big(for us) but it's still finite. We need a lot of players so things still need to be done the right way. Massively over paying just to "get it done" is still not an option.

Let FP do his thing because this is the reason he was brought in, and lets see where we are in September.(y)

I don't think I've seen anyone say it yet, but this sort of money changes next season into one where the league should be a target.

It allows us to take the small hits on those we'd like to move on, potentially securing more funds on top of the 150.

With a couple of smart free agents, we can put big money down for a couple of massive players and still have enough to smartly fill in the gaps.

Need to move quickly now chelsea sale has been approved and completed. They will be looking for a few defenders too
It's a really good point. There are alot of decent CB's out there at the moment but Chelsea need 2. I fancy Tuchel will shop in Germany more but I wouldn't be shocked to see them swoop in for our top target. We need to be decisive if we have a top target.

I might be slightly confused but ...
All these player sales figures people keep adding on are surely nonsense ?
If for example we sell lo celso do we still not have to pay of the remainder of the instalments for the players sold ?
So if we sold him for eg; 25 mill but still owe 20 it does not add 25 mill to the kitty its 5 no ?

Ps sorry to be a bit of a Debbie downer but some of you lovely people expecting us to have 300 million etc to spend may be getting a little over excited thus leading to disappointment or in some of you're cases rage.

Correct. But in the same vein, if we buy Bastoni for £60M we will probably pay this in 5 x £12m instalments over 5 years.

Will be interesting to see the strategy this Summer. Conte will want experience (as in ready made players) and there's plenty about on Bosmans and short contracts. We also have emerging talent that needs encouragement to stick around. We all know that free agents don't come cheap, but you're just effectively converting the transfer fee into bonuses and wages. I know I'd much rather have Belotti on big wages than Jesus on big wages and a big fee.

I think they'll go for Kounde and most likely get him.

I've suggested him a number of times and one fella said he's the "Italian Chris Wood" which make me extremely flaccid.

I think he'd be a great squad player.

Nketiah is a good shout. He covers a number of positions up front. He has been the goons star player. Would also piss off the noisy travellers.

Signing Forster and Eriksen on frees and getting Kostic done for around 12m within the next few weeks would be absolutely amazing and, fingers crossed, that's the case.

Would leave funds for a few big moves and address areas we need improvement.
