This cash injection might also release the pressure on us to sell players outright this summer. We can happily loan out the likes of Ndombele, Emerson, Lo Celso and look to sell them in another window if we can’t shift them now. Very helpful and then opens up a further budget in later windows when do manage to sell them.

Can’t see the direct source where Di Marzio has said this, but all the aggregators picking it up.

First time hearing Skriniar, very intriguing

He was the best of the 3 in both legs against Liverpool. But his best position is RCB so not sure we’d go for him.

I might be slightly confused but ...
All these player sales figures people keep adding on are surely nonsense ?
If for example we sell lo celso do we still not have to pay of the remainder of the instalments for the players sold ?
So if we sold him for eg; 25 mill but still owe 20 it does not add 25 mill to the kitty its 5 no ?

Ps sorry to be a bit of a Debbie downer but some of you lovely people expecting us to have 300 million etc to spend may be getting a little over excited thus leading to disappointment or in some of you're cases rage.
In terms of fresh cash, yes, seeing as we're selling at a huge loss. But his fee will be written off in the accounts over the length of his contract. So say we bought him for 50, we've paid and written off 30 and still owe 20, and sell him for 25. We now no longer have to pay the remaining 20, so in the next two years that frees up 10 million we can use elsewhere in addition to the 5 in fresh cash.

That's not guaranteeing that we actually can afford to spend that money on players, but Levy is hardly known for spending money he doesn't have.

You are correct.
Lo Celso example though, we paid £14m loan fee in summer 2019 which are paid immediately.
Then made it permanent in January 2020 for £27m which would be spread over x amount of years.
2 years of the £27m would mean we’d have paid off a decent chunk I’d have thought?
Its the Ndombele one I’d imagine will screw us. If we manage to get shot, I doubt we’d cover what we owe

It's a really good point. There are alot of decent CB's out there at the moment but Chelsea need 2. I fancy Tuchel will shop in Germany more but I wouldn't be shocked to see them swoop in for our top target. We need to be decisive if we have a top target.
I think they’ll go back for Kounde

edit, totally misunderstood your post at first

well yeah we still have the future commitments to pay, however i suspect that money and commitment is accounted for,

basically moving money around on a balance sheet i guess

Perfectly reasonable response but I honestly think my player sales figures were conservative.

Lo Celso, Reguilon, Bergwijn, and Emerson are all easily £25m players. They’ll be in demand and could easily fetch more than that. Sanchez is highly rated in the Spanish-speaking world. Then there are the fees payed for homegrown players in the Prem, and Rodon and Winks could command £30-40m between the two of them. CCV will go for at minimum the £8m purchase option in his loan to Celtic, more than that if on the open market. That still leaves the bonuses Everton will owe us for Dele, and a possible sale of Ndombele.

We could easily be talking about £150m in sales, plus the CL money. Not to mention possible naming rights revenue. Let’s say we plug 2/3 of the cash injection into the squad, it still adds up to somewhere in the neighborhood of £300m.
I wasn't disagreeing with sales figures at all... sorry if it came across like that.

It's more the idea that the 150m injection isn't going to be a briefcase full of cash ready to be spent immediately. We can already see a lot of people talking in terms of "150m + X + Y" and I get the impression from the club statement that it's not quite that straightforward. Like you say, even if 100m of that is available this summer it's still great news.

Ndombele is the one that worries me.

Who will take him on loan after his disaster at Lyon let alone buy him?
You'd hope there's another top-half French club at least. Think the ship has probably sailed on his aspirations to play for Bayern, PSG, Madrid, etc. though.

It's actually quite satisfying that we'll be playing CL next season while he's off somewhere playing Conference League at the very best. He clearly thought he was a bit above us and deserved to play for a CL club so kind of ironic (and funny) that he won't be a part of it now we've secured top 4.

Wish list:

Johnstone or Forster -HG 2nd choice keeper.
Kostic - need a quality LWB should be attainable
Bissouma- assuming no legal issues, proven premier League CM that would give us great depth with Skipp back.
RWB - not sure Spence is the answer, one area I am unsure who is realistic. Don't think Traore is either.
Eriksen - nothing else needed. Top player on a free.
Martinez - player Conte knows who can play back up or with Kane and be with us long term.

Maybe a new CB too, but I really feel wing backs is top priority as they are so key under Conte. Another quality CM and forward player is needed too.
If we get rid of Bergwijn and Moura, I do wonder if Bale would be worth a pint, or integrate Gil back into the squad. I think Gil has a lot of potential.
I'd be wishing harder mate.

Whilst those players are great, not getting in a new LCB and LWB in the summer will be a failure IMO.

Someone will take him, the question is how much will it cost us to let him go. I reckon we'll be lucky to £20m for him and that's also with us having to pay the difference on his wages. It's going to hurt Levy badly, but he's going to have to right-off a sizeable loss on this one.

And Kounde might have Sevilla coming for Davinson Sanchez again.
Sanchez has had a good season all things considered. If there is a time to maximise his value and sell it's going to be this window considering he only has 2 years left on his contract.

We'll probably only get about £25m for him, but that's still half-way to someone like Bastoni.
