Reguilon, Hojbjerg, Ndombele, Lo Celso,

From here it's so difficult to answer, I'm not going to change "Not needed" to "Open to selling" because a lot of it depends on the manager we have coming in, for example if I look at dele on pure footballing terms and ignore the ITK for a moment then he could potentially be revitalised but this is how I'd have it for the remainder of the squad:

Squad

Rodon, Davies, Skipp, Sessegnon, Tanganga, Foyth (if possible), Hart, Clarke

on the absolute line for me would be Bergwijn and Moura, I think great squad players but if an offer came in too good to turn down, I'd be fine with them leaving.

Lloris is dependant on if he wants to stay or go

Open to selling

Gazzaniga, Aurier, Doherty, Alderweireld, Dier, Sanchez, Winks, Sissoko, Lamela, Dele

Rose is gone too along with the 2 loanees.

Here is how I see the squad at the moment;

The first thing to we need to do is take advantage of what we already have

The big thing for me is that we signed 2 very promising midfielders who have very particular skills and we have not utilised them correctly. I want to be clear, I don't want to absolve either of them of blame, I think they individually carry a lot of the responsibility for it not working out thus far but we have not done enough as a club to get the most out of these 2 expensive signings.

If we sign a manager who can get the best out of what I believe to be two extremely talented midfielders, that goes a long way to revitalising our squad already. To get the best out of both of them could be the platform we need to succeed. I think Reguilon and to an extent bergwijn fall into this category of extremely promising players who we have not managed to get the best out of.

The next step and how to approach next season

I think we need to be realistic and suggest that with Covid, the chances are that we're not going to get the big overhaul of signings that we need. So I think we need to be smart and work from a smaller team, we need to use this summer to have a clearout but we will probably only add a couple of starters and use some of our current younger players as placeholders as we use next season as a transitional season.

I'd be looking at the team like this with our current players. I'm saying this is a base and we keep the squad small and build around this team

Lloris
Tanganga* Alderweireld Rodon Reguilon
Hojbjerg
Ndombele Lo Celso
Moura Kane Son

* - I'd prefer to name Foyth here but we'll see how that situation transpires.

So for me the glaring weaknesses are Tanganga/Foyth, Alderweireld and Moura.

So this summer I'd be looking at getting Max Aarons, Botman or Andersen, Sabitzer and that Olise from reading.

Sabitzer for me one of the keys to making things work because he can play in various positions including right wing. I think with Bergwijn and Moura, we have the possibility of playing out and out wingers but Sabitzer could really bump up the quality there and also serve as allowing us to rotate our midfielders. He really would help in terms of the constraints we have with signings. This also allows us to take the risk on Olise and see if he could be the answer to our front 3 and then we could shift Sabitzer to midfield depending on where the successes in the team are being found.

I think Aarons will be a difficult deal to do, Celik would be on my list as an alternative.

If we was going to go big guns this summer, I'd be looking to raise let's say 65-70 mill selling the trio of Dele, Winks and Lamela and replacing with Grealish, another player who can play in various positions but difficult to see him joining, this is my delusional hope of a transfer this summer :LOL: If we made this sort of signing, it may be a good signal to the likes of Kane.

So my squad would look like this for a season;

Keepers: Lloris, Hart, Whiteman

Defenders: Aarons, Tanganga, Foyth, Alderweireld, Rodon, Botman/Andersen, Davies, Reguilon, Sess

Midfielders: Hojbjerg, Skipp, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Sabitzer

Wingers: Moura, Bergwijn, Olise, Son, Clarke

Forwards: Kane

so that's a squad of 22, I think we'd need to try and find a loan for a striker also. Possibly keep Bale for another season on Loan as an option also. It's a small squad but one aimed at a longer view to a rebuild. I

I honestly wonder if not being in Europe for a season would benefit us if we don't make top4, I reckon we need all the money we can get however.

The summer of 2022

This is where I'd be looking to put the finishing touches on the team. This is where I look to add another CB to finish the pairing, to add another midfielder and also sort the forward positions with another winger or striker and have a squad which is more like 25-26 players. Probably be looking at replacing Lloris.

Other ramblings

Obviously so much depends on the manager, this is just me having some fun, I think another thing we could look at is adding somebody like Luis Campos (Please sign him up) as a DoF and taking advantage of the financial situation the french league is in, try and build our summer around those variables possibly.
