You can be as snarky as you like about it, @Bus-Conductor, but I sincerely believe that lessons have been learned from last summer, and given the sweet harmony that exists between Levy and Pochettino, there is good reason to be optimistic.

I think we'll see a minimum of 5 new faces.
Lessons have been learned is the most annoying Spurs phrase

I think we need the following:

1. A CB to replace Wimmer, who I think will go. I like Dier, I really do, but he is a little slow and probably better suited to DM. Not sure how pacey Gibson, Maguire or Keane are, but possibly one of these? In an ideal world, I would like an experienced CB who can be an outfield leader, like Gallas when we got him.
2. Someone to alternate with Dembele and possibly groom to replace in the future. Maybe Keita or Kovacic?
3. An attacker who can dribble at pace in the final third. If I'm being honest, I don't think Zaha or Barkley are the answer and think we can do better. I know Poch likes these 2 players, and would prefer to buy players with PL experience, but I think we may need to go abroad for this. Zaha is nearly 25 but this has been his best season and I think we need someone who has reached the same output but a few years younger as hopefully they'll have a higher ceiling.
4. I also think we need to make a decision on Janssen. If he can't get goals for us then we need to cut our losses and bring someone else in. We lost the league because of our away form and in October/November when Harry was out. An extra striker can help Kane.

I think we need to be a bit bolder on our targets (especially on points 2 & 3) and we should also get some young talent in such as Sessegnon (possibly buy but loan back). We must also keep all our key 1st team and might need to pay more wages (including Walker). I think we have the money and can get rid of a few squad members.

Why are people thinking Barkley would play in the Dembele's spot? Same people who keep thinking Sissoko will play there?

If we get Barkley, he seems likely to back up Eriksen and Dele in the 2 behind Kane, or as part of an AM3.

I'm not a huge fan of Gibson but admittedly I haven't seen too much of him. What is good about him though is he's left footed so I think he'd fit that LCB role quite well. I think i'd prefer him to Maguire.

We are 1/3 (odds on) to sign Harry Maguire according to skybet. 5/4 to sign Zaha and 11/8 to sign Barkley.
