Ok so I’ve decided this is what we should do:
Sell:
Toby
Rose
Sissoko
Jansen
Llorente

Buy;
CB
Seas
CM back/up
Malcom
Young ST back up but better than Janssen

Then sign messi and go bankrupt but win the league cup.

Simples.
COYS.

Probably stuff behind the scenes which is pissing mouriniho off imo.

I think so. He looks like he needs to lose 1 or 2 stones more than I do!

I really don’t get the love for Shaw. He had 1 good spell under Poch but he’s not that same players any more. His move to Man U and the injuries have ruined him. His level now is a mid table club. If I were him I’d look at the situation at somewhere like Everton and try and get his agent to get him a move there.

Mawson is OK but just that.

He might turn out to be decent but yet to be convinced he's anything other than flavour of the month at the moment.

I wouldn't have minded him last season for a reasonable fee but now they'll want at least £30m which for me would be a silly gamble.
The price is a fair concern, but lets remember that the other concerns were all leveled at Alderweireld as well.

Being honest as a collective SC’s history of scouting players isn’t great.

A number of posters didn’t want Wanyama, Alderweireld and others.

I once really wanted Leroy Lita as our fourth choice striker.

I doubt many here have any real knowledge of Mawson , and no watching a fair few Swansea games doesn’t count.

Yep. There was only a handful of us that wanted Toby signed in the first place.

We need a top class replacement for him though as I don’t think we will ever be as strong with him gone. Him and vertonghen’s relationship at centre back is a unique one.

Sanchez was/is his replacement.

I like Sanchez, but maybe he (and Foyth) would be kept on their toes if there was another player in the squad to keep them performing? Plus we play so many games now that extra options won’t hurt...

I think many of us would have liked to sign toby but didn't think a cb was a priority at the time as we had dier and vertonghen.

I guess this shows the club knows what it’s doing and the fans don’t know much at all! :)

Going to be an interesting summer. More outs than ins I think. Pretty sure Jansen and N’Koudou will obviously go. But other than that i’m not sure as don’t think Pochetino will want to lose more than 2 of the first team squad in one window, so reckon it will be Toby or Rose and probably Llorente. Maybe all three though. Which means Sissoko stays.

Even if Jansen, N’Koudou, Llorente, Toby and Rose go, I think we’ll probably only buy two players. A left back and CM or AM.

Sanchez, Vertonghen, Dier, Foyth and CCV is enough at CB.

Son is Kane’s back up.

I think we might go for someone like Malcolm and then see Alli used at CM a bit more often.

Dier, Dembele, Wanyama, Alli, Sissoko, Winks or Onomah gives plenty of options in CM.

Or better still just buy one player that can play striker, AM and left back. Perhaps someone that according to the BBC has huge commercial appeal in China.

Welcome back Gareth.

I pretty much agree with your post, except I would add a CB, get Onomah gone and absolutely pick up Bale. He could tuck in behind Kane and as you say, Alli could play further back as CM. Alli coming from deep would cause havoc during an attack as he could recycle any loose ball and pop shots in, and still get in the box.

If we need a marquee signing then why not Bale?

Because he's on £350k a week after tax? We'd have to pay him over £600k a week.
