On the more general topic - where could we use strengthening/reinforcement?

Full backs - possibly, especially if we think (1) Rose wants to leave/won't get fit again and/or (2) KWP won't get there (i really hope he does, talented player)

CB - if Toby leaves, though probably a young one

CM - definitely IMO, as a long term Dembele replacement, though hope Winks recovers his pre-injury form

Right sided/left footed AM - probably, though we're now looking quite well stocked there

CF - not really, but if a very good youngster comes up, sure

So we're actually in a pretty good place, and many of the decision are conditional/subject to other conclusions about whether a player leaves or otherwise.

All other things being equal, I actually think CM is where we most need to bolster

It's a no-brainer really. Even if he doesn't work out here, we could make back most of the money because he's English and talented, there'd be a loads of lower tier PL clubs interested.

I don't think Maddison is good enough for that price. We should do better. Plus we already have 5 AMs. And we want Malcom. Where does Maddison fit??
