3 in please
Quality striker
Upgrade on Lamela
Better option from the bench in the middle of the park
Welcome back. I'm sure it's entirely coincidental that your return has come after 3 frustrating results- shame you weren't posting when we were doing well.

Do you think Lamela should be sold?

3 in a must for me to improve.

Striker
Def Mid (allows Dier to act as CB cover as well)
Creative Att Mid (sell one of the likes of Chadli)

Anything else a bonus.

It will always be Kane.

If we always play one up top...I do get bored citing the same quotes over and over again but Poch has said he will adapt his system to suit a set of players. Can definitely accommodate a player of Lacazette's quality alongside Kane.

That's not the point I was making. Probably a pointless debate anyway as I think Batshuayi's the one we will go for.

Like I said previously, my guy said Batshuayi is "done". I doubted it was as far advanced at the time but today's statement coming out of Marseille makes me think it might well be.

I'm certain we should be buying Batshuayi. Younger, physically built for the PL, and crucially - has shown that he's very good effecting games coming off the bench - which is something we definitely need in a forward.
Helps to have many Belgians too to settle

Batsuayi, Dendoncker and Boufal. Just get it done. I also think we'll drag in a quality older head for the experience... a-la VDV

Bye, bye to Carroll, Chadli, Fazio and Yedlin.

Expect heavy links to James Maddison and Callum Wilson too.

Forget the talk of finding a new Dembele. Bentaleb will get first crack, Mason second and Onomah third, if by some random chance none of them make it his own we'll trial Ali in that spot..... having said that if Modric, Rabiot or Thiago became available I'd be sorely tempted to change my view.

I'm sure that this will cause a torrent of optimistic ratings (or worse) to rain down on me, but having read that and looked at the various clips etc, I think that there would easily be room for both at Spurs. Batshuayi would obviously rotate with Harry and be the big, physical no.9 cover that the squad obviously needs.

Lacazette however would be ideal for a LW/RW slot to provide that devastating pace on the break and seems strong and fairly tricky in his close control. I wouldn't mind seeing him as cover for Alli too, as I can imagine him bombing passed Kane/Batshuayi looking for a through ball (think Alli against Stoke).

Now whether we could afford both is very debatable, but they'd definitely add depth and real cutting edge to the squad. And potentially stop one of our rivals bringing one of them in and stepping up.

I'd be delighted just to sign one of them.

The thing is that other clubs can offer Lacazette the chance to be their main man- that won't ever be the case with us and he's at the stage of his career where he's going to make his big move.
What clubs?

We are now in a market where there are a limited amount of teams for a top tier player who is looking to move on. The only clubs looking for a striker will potentially be:
Arsenal - not been linked with Lacazette and they have Giroud and Welbeck. Giroud who has been picked ahead of Lacazette.
Chelsea - They have Costa,
Man Utd - They have Martial, Rooney and Rashford
Liverpool - They probably have Origi but he isn't exactly great, the rest probably will leave

Atletico Madrid - They have Greizmann and Vietto

PSG - They will keep Cavani

Juventus - They seem to want a new striker every year but they do have Dybala

He wont go to any top club in europe and be automatic first choice imo except possibly liverpool

I think people do overrate Lacazette a bit as if he is a great striker, with his pick of any club outside the few uber clubs. He hasnt even made the france squad with Martial, Gignac and Giroud.

At the moment west ham are the main club being linked with him.

Well, this is a wish list thread. What we need as of today is competition for both Dier AND Dembele, Both beeing so important for our team. Also we need an up and coming/competition for Kane, and a tricky AMC/LWF/RWF who can dribble and cause havoc at those teams that park the bus. Who these players are, I do not know. But Bolaise, Sissoko, Wijnaldum etc. are not players we need. And for Gods sake, who the hell suggested Toure?????

The more I think about it. Not being able to sign Martial was a real shitter.

You make a fair point- but I think you overrate the importance of him not being in the France squad. Looking at the replies to the announcement, many of their fans are pissed right off. Ben Arfa, who's been sensational this season, was also left out of the squad. Most national team managers, unfortunately including England's, make fucking stupid decisions that make no sense. It seems that Lacazette not being in the squad is one of them.

This past season has humbled him. This has been a tough season for him through injuries. He will come back stronger next season, don't be suprised to hear that he reports to pre season camp a week or two earlier than the rest.

If he's still here…(which I hope he is)

But you are ignoring some facets here, an important one being that Lacazette can genuinely play in a number of forward roles and formations. If City switched to a 433 under Guardiola and binned players like Navas, or Chelsea switch to a 532 under Conte, or Wenger realises Lacazette is a massive upgrade as a wide forward on the likes of Walcott, or Klopp decides to offload Sturridge or/and Benteke (and gets CL). Atletico have been playing a two striker system, and there are a couple of other clubs in Spain who'd be very interested (like a Valencia trying to re-establish themselves in the higher order), German clubs like Schalke or Wolfsburg who need new striker blood and have pretty good wage budgets, then there are clubs in England, as much as I hate to say it, like West Ham who will offer big wages and European football and a guaranteed start every week in major league.

I think Lacazette is a hell of a lot more versatile and all the more desirable for it, to a lot more teams.

We need to be finding players that will mesh with our attitude within the club. I trust the higher guard that they will manage the new aquisitions and find the right mentality. Kids need to come in and need to want to play a brand of football.
