Lots of reports about at the moment saying that we are actually going to try for Skriniar again. I just cant see why he would come and he must be v expensive. Inter need the money apparently though. Would love to get him and Andersen in to really give us 2 top quality CBs again. Fingers crossed for a miracle.

Thing is, Levy won’t want to miss out on CL three years in a row, with the format changing we need to be in and amongst the teams qualifying regularly. So in a way, the club HAS to invest. It’s a matter of whether or not we can I suppose.

We should be all over Olise at Reading. Wouldnt cost the earth and could become a huge talent.

Trade him for Dele. A coach like Nagelsmann would be a good match too.

Reminds me a bit of Dembele. He does look a really good player.

The issue is these players have gone from £5-10m gambles to £20-30m gambles. I'd be surprised if they let him go for anthing reasonable.

They won't let him go at all if they get promoted.

I think it's very clear that we need to focus on improving our starting XI, not signing squad players or. I would expect him to fall into the mix with our existing youngsters who aren't ready yet (White, Devine, Clarke, Scarlett, Parrott etc.). Replacing Ali with him would almost certainly weaken our squad (i.e. the opposite of what we need to achieve this summer).

Assuming Olise was the perfect addition to our team though, do you really think Dele would agree to sign for Reading in a swap deal? o_O

I'm pretty sure he meant trade squad places not clubs. (i.e. Olise in and Dele out)

Someone who has access to the article about Agüero? Already pays for to many services and outlets...

While I’m against signing players of his age (or over like 26) this must be treated in a different way. Injuries are a big concern but he’s just absolute class. 1 year contract and he works as a limbo to Scarlett and/or Parrott as the partner or understudy to Kane.

In my opinion Aguero is pretty much finished at the highest level. His game has been built on his sharpness in the box and ability to take quick small touches before quickly getting a powerful shot off. He has lost a lot of that sharpness. Nowadays he doesn't posses the pace to run in behind defences nor the physical attributes to win duels and hold the ball up well. Pretty useless conversation though as the article doesn't saying anything about us being interested and it is a move that just won't happen.

I think Aguero would be pretty ideal given our situation, we only need a backup to play a handful of games; We've seen this season that a 2nd striker is not going to get too many opportunities because Kane always plays and Aguero would be the perfect stop gap as we develop Scarlett and Parrott.

We ain't paying £200k+ for a 30+ year old to sit on the bench. The only way this could remotely have a chance of happening is if Bale wasn't to renew for another season.

But I'd rather have Bale than Aguero anyway tbh.

Our signings probably depend on how we finish the season and whether JM is still in charge. If he goes then it is easier for DL to spend less and we lose JM contacts. Personally players like Anderson at Fulham, Berge at SU and Neto at Wolves make sense and all relatively premiership proven and get-able. However, we will all then have to listen to, no money, sell b4 we buy and possibly paying JM off effecting transfer fund. I don't envy whoever comes in, there is some amount of transfer business to be done and I for one have little faith in our transfer policy or a lot of our scouting, but perhaps a few of those off form may start to play their way back into contention?

Lloris

Aurier
New CB (our VvD, whoever that may be)
Rodon
Reguilón

Højbjerg
Skipp
Ndombele

Bale
Kane
Son

Hart, Tanganga, Davies, Sessegnon, Sabitzer, Lo Celso, Ings

Would that be a terrible 18 for the first match of 21/22?

My only consideration would be that Skipp is used only to rest Hojbjerg. I would prefer we see Lo Celso, Ndombele with Hojbjerg in midfield. Or as you have Sabitzer on the bench use him over Skipp. Could also do with an upgrade at right back and I would imagine that the club may listen to offers on Aurier.

I think from those 5 CM options, you can pick 3 to suit any match/opposition. I'd be really excited by that selection.

Agree on Aurier, especially if he has no interest in a new contract. He's been much improved this season though - keeping him wouldn't be a disaster.

Being the crazy bastard I am, I have this feeling Skipp could become the one who needs resting in the very near future..l
