Haaland was only in Austria for 1 season. He scored 8 in 6 in Europe. So nearly double in half the time.

This could go either way. 99% of the time, Sporting are terrible at selling players for anything significant. Bruno being an exception, but even that could be seen as too low.
It's amazing how common the sell on fee is in Portugal. Almost every deal, especially those between two Portuguese clubs, is something like €xm + 50% of his pass (I still haven't worked out exactly what pass means, but it's basically 50% of his value). Often after a year, another 20-30% of a player's pass is then purchased, sometimes at a higher rate but also quite often at the same one.

Anyway, Edwards wasn't as spectacular last season as he was in his first, but I'm delighted he's coming to Sporting. Will fit beautifully into Amorim's 343 with Pote and Tomas/Paulinho.

It does show that the scouting record of the red bull network is consistently strong though, and understandable that clubs will look to cherry pick the next player that shows signs of breaking through (like Liverpool did with Minamino).

It’s true that rb Salzburg’s performance in the CL opened everyone else’s eyes to the work they were doing but teams like Southampton have been monitoring them for a while too (which is ironically the place where mane stood out)

I would expect that was a conscious decision to try to get him for a better price.
Although the way things are going right now it’s just as possible we’ve messed up.

I really wanted him when he was at Sampdoria, I think he's had injury problems and I know he didn't set the world ablaze at Roma but he is so technically good. Would be a joy to watch but just wonder if too much time has passed on that one.
